Internet troubles!!!

Recently I bought a modem for my new computer and i can log onto the internet but can't search ne pages with it, atm im using my old computer since i can't search ne pages with my new computer.

I tested 2 modems (my new one and my old one) on my new computer and both both work fine so that ruled out a faulty modem. the new computer is in a seperate room and uses a different phoneline connection (both phone connections are actually connected to each other and use the same number) to the old computer if that helps.

So my question is would ne one here know ne way I could fix this problem.

what do you mean when you say yyou cant "search"?

Can you surf the net alright ?

If not then it might be a problem with some of the computers settings, or if you cannot connect at all or have a slower connection, there may be a fault in the line (or extension) that you are running off.

Jsut a few ideas. However without knowing the actual prob ... cant say much more. Maybe someone else has other ideas ?

Well actually atm im surfing the net on my new PC so that means I got the Internet working properly.

The problem was a program I installed before installing my Interent connection 'ZoneAlarm' was conflicting with my Internet connection and I could connect to the Internet but I couldn't actually visit any URL's. I uninstalled the program and the problem was gone.

Thanks for the advice anyway.;)
