IP play issues

Is anyone else having IP connection issues - or had issues and resolved them?

I have been trying to connect to a friend about 7 hours away (Ontario to Quebec) and we cannot get things going. We have played before, the IP patch worked and all was good.
Last Friday, we could connect but after about 1 minute real time - playing the match, we constantly lost connection. We are both with the same broadband provider and have DL'd the same patches for UEFA.

Can anyone help?
