Its the strat I have been most succesfull with against the PC. But in multiplayer, 3 defenders just isnt enough against that crazy dribbler :(

It depends..

It depends on where your weakness is, if you have lots of goals scored against you try more defenders, if you cannot maintain possesion or get anything flowing try more midfielders, and if you don't score enough try 2 or 3 forwards and higher offensive pressure. 3 forwards sounds good but unless you love crossing into the box, you may not like there positioning as the right and left forwards only seem to be in good position to cross the ball into the box. 2 seem to be better positioned and can often attack straight at the goal.

"The crazy dribler" hehehe funny...........sound like a gunman....

you´re right though...you definitely has to play 4 defenders preferebly with a sweeper.......or also everything turns Michael owen / Diego Maradona vs. Laurent Blanc / Barthez on a bad day...............

I play with a 4-4-2 flat. works well, i get a fine supply of goals from the defence, midfield and front men

3-5-2 is also a very good formation, you can make your wingers go up and down to help in both offense/defense. But you need fast wingers with high stamina. I like this formation because you can control the middle with lot of passing.

I play 4-4-2 and for some reason my strikers play on the left wing and centre attacking mid??? does this happen to anyone else??
this way i have to put my strikers LWM and CAM in order for them to play upfront

Check this out

I am playing with the following formation with Real Madrid

.........RB...........CB............LB

RW..................DM......................LW

...........RM....................LM

........................CF
........................ST

Under this formation which I seem to have mastered....I am 14 wins no losses, no ties.

I am undefeated and all medicore teams don't stand a chance

I just beat Tenerife of the Spanish first division 7-1

I maintain more than 60% of possession

although my finishing could take some more practice...still missing the odd open net from bad angles

Kind of helps that I've added a coupe of stars to my roster....its Real Madrid...they will probably buy them anyways...lol

i forgot to mention the fact that, although this formation won me quite a number of trophies (pro), the victories i obtain are hardly deserved. in most cases, i only have abt 40% possession and the computer is dominating midfield. my goals come from quick counter attacks and 1-2 passes
