Is a 10 ball passer valuable ?

I have a 21 year old great passer. He is training is 9th ball and has 4 in almost all other skill. Actually i don't need him because i already have a kickass midfield.

My plan was to train him till 10 balls, but would that make him valuable for selling? I actually never see great passers at the transfer market. Or should i train him at tackling, which I normally do ?

How much money would a 22 year old with 10 passing and 4 in all other skills go for on the market ? (he has 9 form and a great learner, always in the top of my TR)

id train him in tackling as passing was proved to be worthless, and 9 is more than sufficient regardless. if he has 4 in all other skills keep him and keep training on ball control and tackling..

Are you serious? Passing is worthless? :o :o That would mean i've been training my youths in passing for no reason :D :(

What's the key attribute for midfielders then :S

Larsp's research wasn't that great imho if you think of all the factors he hasn't looked at - all he's looked at is the stats for completed passes comapred to the balls they have in passing, he ignored what stats the receiver of the pass has in ball ctrl, the passer's play int, form, experience, etc. I find the research unreliable and now people are saying the passing attribute is worthless with no hard evidence. Even if it was only a minute difference between 1 and 10 balls it'd still be a difference enough to be not worthless.

Anyway, the best stats for midfielders are probably ball ctrl, play int, passing and tackling. If they're attacking and not defensive, replace tackling with shooting. Try and get them all to around five for example (training the lower stats first) and then train them all up one at a time.

On MZ go to Sportsbar; ManagerZone Live; MZ Practice and you can see a demonstration on the difference between passing. If that's right then it's not worthless after all.

Thanks Ash, i never noticed that section.

I also saw Jonathan Lindgren shoot. It seemed to me he shoots much faster then my own strikers (all 6-shooters). So more shooting only makes the ball go faster ? Or he is he more accurate as well ?

The cross ball part was also interesting. I play "long balls", but never saw Cross balls as an important skill. I guess i was wrong.
