Is it possible to loose skill over time?

I'm filled with anger right now. I just felt that I'd became quite capable of beating the CPU on 3*. However, I've been playing all day, and did loose every single game (well perhaps I won two in the penalty shootout).

I guess I have to play againt the crappy CPU on 2* again until I become more skilled.

Mate its like anything. You can go through a bad patch..takes practice and time and im sure it will come back. 3*'s isnt that easy so dont worry im sure you will get the skill back!!!

Is it just me or do players go on slump too? Or its me thats not playing right but heres the scenerio: My best player Tevez was the leading scorer of La Liga on my 5th season with 25 goals. Now that im playing my 6th season, and in mid season transfer, he has only acheived 5 goals!!?? Hes only 25 btw so hes not old, i dont know whats going on, after MANY injuries hes had, he just hasnt been the same. Yeah his stats are 90+ (best player), yet he is playing like he is only average this season.

ik what you mean. PES 4 I had Bojinov who was top scorer for 3 seasons straight, then went in to a season-and-a-half-long slump, and then came back for the second half of the 5th season to get back to the top scorer position.

it's weird.

Sometimes I wonder if I don't have a performance arrow of my own. Some days I feel like a red arrow, others I feel blue....

If I am ever in a 'slump', I find that I am trying too hard to score (in a very direct, straight-forward way), rather than just playing -- picking the other teams apart with build-up play or smart counter-attacking, or whatever.

Yeah. same here too. sometimes on a bad patch I just can't get any ideas on how to score. Just need to be in the right frame of mind.

You are absolutely right. I kept the 3*difficulty and just played an international cup as Brazil and grouped up with Ukraine, Spain and Poland. I won my first game 3-0 over Ukraine, then 2-1 over Spain and 0-0 with undertipped Poland.
Now advanced from groupplay i won 1-0 over Russia. Unfortunately I played 0-0 with Switzerland in the semifinanls and lost 1-3 in penalty shootout, when my players missed target 3 of 5 times (a bit unrealistic maybe).
But everything went af lot smoother. All I did was being af bit more creative and playing ball around until a hole opened in defence. :rockman:

Could it be, that the players ability to perform penalty kicks were affected by their bad stamina/fatique level? :jambo:

Yet another International Cup with Brazil. This time I won 3-0 over Italy in the final becoming champion of the world. I'd start thinking about moving on to 4*.

Beside practice - Kamils point of view helped me back on the right path: Passing and splitting the other teams defence apart (actually quite obvious and realistic way to archieve winning games). Thx.
