Is it still Rigged?

I love Pro Evo, but the major problem that really gets me angry when playing it is the "rigged game" situation.

Whenever teams score goals, it seems they get them right at the very end of stoppage time, in freak circumstances. I could name many many examples, but the most recent was the last game I played.

Playing as lowly St Kilda (my own made-up team), I came up against Arsenal. After they got a goal in the first 6 minutes, I was on the back foot trying to equalise. I finally managed it in the 63rd minute and was dominating the game. In the 83rd, I had a chance to take a 2-1 lead when I hit a shot perfectly, set the curve to the right so it went in, but for some reason, the ball went to the left (6) Why is it so rigged? Not only that, but at the very end of stoppage time, Arsenal scored a freak goal out of nowhere, where my defenders even successfully applied a tackle, and the ball somehow deflected onto an Arsenal striker, who came up with a weak, slow shot and still went in.

Are these problems prevalent in Pro Evo 6?

Bottom line ... there are still "cheats" or aids built in for the cpu controlled teams..

I love PES but you would have to be blind not to see in PES6 that cpu controlled teams play away above there stats.

On 3stars or Reg you can hardly get the ball off them in a tackle, you boucne off them as they move through you defence. And that's the lesser teams, my son and I played against Inter Milan in the section after the group stage of the KCup, Adriano was unreal, the team when on the ball hit 99.99% of never failing 1 touch passes or players went on mazy runs, where as I said , your players spin off the player on the ball. Yet flip the coin, they either stand there and you hit off them as soon as the balls off your foot its theres, or they run along side you and just slip across your body and off with the ball.

If you took all the best bits of Jimmy Johnstone Maradona Pele Cyruff Charlton and best and rolled them up into 1 player, on a 3 star or Reg setting cpu controlled you would have Adriano and more than half this team mates. Even when you managed to get a foot in and knock the ball behind him , he was turned and on it before you could move ...

Now I don't want PES to be easy , but its not just the top team in pes are like that when controlled by the cpu its all of them even on 3 star playing a cpu team thats going forward is like watching Brazil of 1970 and when the cpu defends you watching the best of the old Italian defences...

Oh awesome.. that's great to hear.

This is one thing that i REALLY, REALLY hate about PES 5 and PES in general. The CPU is cheap. Though i could go on and on about all the things i really hate about this series.. but i still love it. Anyways the fact that it's extremely difficult to strip the ball from the CPU yet if you have the ball and a CPU player farts it will knock the ball away is ridiculous.. they should have fixed this. Well it's not THAT bad most of the time but the computer seems to be able to withstand and hold possession much more than we can.

The CPU in PES can be as cheap as old NES games.. theres so many times ive sworn at the computer because the CPU blatantly cheats. Instead of Konami improving the AI, all they do and have been doing is making the game AI cheap instead of skillful, intelligent and realistic. All they do to make it more difficult is have the players play WAY better than their stats.. and let them do cheap things such as being able to hold onto the ball better, score ridiculously impossible late goals on a regular basis etc.

I can't judge how these things are on PES 6 since i haven't played it yet, but from i read it sounds like a lot of the same crap has returned. I love PES, i really do.. but Konami needs to step the hell up and start MAJORILY improving the game.. instead of just releasing a game each year that it is slightly better than the previous one.

I haven't noticed any "cheating" on my PC... you know, it is not uncommon for football teams to press/attack during the last minutes of each half; it's pretty much standard procedure, really. I even seem to remember reading somewhere that on average, most goals were scored on the 43th and 82nd minute (although when I say it, it sounds really stupid...) but, at any rate, this is not a sign of cheating, it's a sign of AI.

You may also have noticed that in real life, improbable goals and results are not entirely outside the realm of possibility. Bolton has beaten Arsenal. Defender Jason Cundy scored a 55-yard screamer from a sliding tackle. Goalkeepers occasionally score from goal kicks. Stan Collymore [insert personal favourite example of Collymore's cookiness]. I could go on but I hope you see my point by now: it's a funny old game, is football. The fact that a little bit of this randomness is present in PES/WE is one of my personal favourite things about the game.

If you don't want any surprises, you can always lower the difficulty level. These things will still happen but you probably won't be as upset about them if you're leading by, say, five goals. If you think about it (or, better yet, make a "me vs. my computer cheat log"), I think you will see that the strange goals and pieces of bad defending happen pretty much exatly the same for you as against you. Have you never score in the last minute, or won a game the opposing team dominated? It's just that you notice the ones against you more because they upset you. I'm not trying to be a jerk by saying this; it's perfectly normal to notice what upsets you more than what doesn't--it's a part of the human condition. Trust me, if you stop thinking about the game you're playing as a cheater and just accept what happens in it (grudgingly as it may be), you'll have more fun and be a better player. Irritation is not a recommended PES/WE companion. Or something.
