it happened to me a couple of times while playing online.. both of them inside the penalty area and penalties were given

Give me some evidence otherwise move bitch get out the way.
Something similar happened to me....I slid with one of my defenders to block a shot, I blocked the shot but the ball knocked over my player. The ref then gave the computer a penalty kick even though my defender was nowhere near the attacker who took the shot. Could have been a handball, but it also could have just been a glitch.

I remember a while ago I was involved in a thread which was talking about this.
My story is I was playing with Leeds and Radebe slide tackled in the box and accidentally slid Woodgate, Woodgate fell and the ref sent off Radebe and awarded my opponent at the time a penalty.
Somebody at the time said that it seemed EA programmed the penalties as Player Felled=Penalty... Im not sure if thats right but it seems to fit into the rest of the story.
E.G You say the ball hit you player in the chest and he fell over, the game if programmed playerfelled=penalty would have registers it as a penalty.

Don't EA have a testing department? Seriously?
Let's be totally honest here. Anybody (almost) on this forum, given two weeks alone with FIFA 2003 would have come up with all of the major bugs in this game and told the programming department what needing sorting out. Obviously EA didn't do this. If they did they're bastards becasue they didn't fix anything. If they did BETA test it then they got chimps to do it becasue they never picked up on anything.
This just further goes to prove what an incompetant bunch off assholes are in charge of the FIFA series at EA. Can you imagine the same thing happening with Konami? Crap no! I think the major reason there are so many bugs in FIFA 2003 is becasue there is so much scripted play (as opposed to the totally free play in PES2/WE6) that certain conditions lead to exact replica bugs manifesting.
Please, the normal respondants with the "if you don't like the game, don't play it" just freak off and whine elsewhere. This thread is to discuss flaws not your undying love for FIFA.
