Now, before you say I am stupid, or whatever you people have to say about my thread topic, I must add that I do not own a PS2 and although live in England (as the US don't get PES, or WE) I do not own PES.

What I do own is an Xbox, which graphics wise is damn 'wow', completly blows the competition away graphics wise, but the football games that are coming and that are out at the moment are of a good selection.

2002 FIFA World Cup - This game is complete p*ss, the gameplay is terrible, but the player faces are brilliant...the player models, well, that's a different story! ;)

David Beckham Soccer - Though not released, high hopes are for this game! :)

International Superstar soccer 2 - Now this IS football, and it's a good simulation also of the beautiful game and it also looks brilliant. With the FIFPro licence, you can't really go wrong, though Gardos is annoying...abviously it's meant Carlos, but EA seem the grab all the real player names for their crappy poor excuse for a football game.

I think ISS 2 is a very good example of how football should be played in a video game and that it's very close, more close to, then what I'd thought it would be to PES on PS2. I was expecting fun, realistic, but overall different gameplay in ISS 2 is very similar to PES...but still not as realistic. Scoring is fun and that's what I like.

I am sure you guys have many bad things to say about ISS 2, as you all seem to be playing WE6, which will be PES 2 over here in the UK for PS2, which pisses me off, as PS2 is the only game that will get it and it lacks technology...surely Game Cube and XBOX good deliver a better experience both technically and graphically...and it'd play even smoother, with a better FPS rate.

I like PS2, but curse it for been the only console to get KCET making ISS games for it.

ISS 2 Blows. It is the worst football game I have ever played. The only good thing is the sound. It is also jerky as hell and has terrible scrolling

Well, ISS 2 is a good game, not as good as PES, but certainly worth a go and I'll certainly try out David Beckham Soccer!

Well ISS2 for PS2 is a bad game, I tested it 3 days ago, it has a bad gameplay, the pitch is awful, but the faces of the players are not bad..
Anyone who played WE6 or even PES won't play ISS2 for a long time ( I did it for about 10 minutes ). Man, I can't wait to get the full translation patch for WE6... that game is the game !

ive played iss2 on gamecube and think its not a bad game. I think the free kicks are very simple to master as not so easy in pro evo or we6. I have to say mate that PES and Defo WE6 are what i think Simulation games. True football representation. I honestly think if ur a good footballer and can think well u get rewards from such games as ISS PRO EVO and Winning eleven 5 & 6

As I recently got an X Box, this is on my shopping list!

OK i just played ISS2 for, yes, no word of a lie, 8 hours straight. Got home yesterday at 5.30pm, didn't go to be did early the next morning, it is that good.

The graphics are top notch, as good as PES and a bit more fluid than PES. The license is good to have, better if it was a FULL licence, but oh well. The referee i was very pleased with (I am a ref, so it's all good). The gameplay, hmmmm. In one word. CRAP!! Woooops wrong game (this is not FIFA!). It's BRILLIANT! Now as Nick said, its not as much of sim as PES, but I found PES a little tedious at times, and ISS2 is not as realistic as I would like but its sooo much more fun than PES. Which is just as important.

As Nick said, sound is top notch. Everything else is done fantastic.

I am going out on a limb here: Most enjoyable football game EVER MADE!

PS: Halo rules!

Sorry Gareth, I don't agree with you there! You are entitled to your own opinion and I am not going to slag you off for it.

I got Winning Eleven 6 a while before ISS2 and have been playing WE6 all the time. When I got ISS2 I thought I would give it a chance. To be fair the presentation of the game is wicked and the commentry is a lot better then the Pro Evo series's commentry. But thats where the goodness stops! The game is jerky and the pitch looks pathetic. The graphics are as good as Pro Evo if not better, but hey, so are Fifas! I played one game and relegated it to the back of my cd wallet!

Everyone has their own opinion and that is mine. WE6 is the king by far. ISS2 is a bit of fun (just about). If you take the time to give WE6 the chance you will realise it is wicked.

The way PES is realistic is what's most fun to me. Sometimes, games can get pretty tactical and sleepy but then...89 mins, u pull a 30 meters pass that leaves ur FW in front of the keeper and just make the perfect lob.
For me this is fun, but it's a matter of opinion ,right?

totally agree

when I first played WE5 I immediately said to myself "wow, this is football" never before and never thereafter any other footie series made me say that.

yes and I even love that "boring" tactical matches....where I have to fight for the last 30 minutes just to drive my victory home.

and yes I even love it, when I totally control about 85 minutes of the game leading by 1 goal only just to receive two goals in the last minutes and overtime to be defeated by an otherwise totally inferior opponent....(ok I don't enjoy at the moment of playing, but I really love that theres the possibility that something like that happens to me).

I personally don't think, that ISS2/WS2002 is any good, because it's too simple, but on the other side I might fit perfectly between FIFA and WE if you want more of an arcade type of game but not total crap like FIFA :-)

OK, I have never played any of the WE series, mainly because it is not available in Australia. So ISS2 is the best football game IMO available in Australia and on the Xbox.

BTW the graphics in ISS2 slaughter PES.

I have played all football games on PS2. No doubt PES is the best. It is the XO of football games. ISS2 is not as as good as PES but miles better than FIFA games in gameplay.
