Lawyer or not, that is not the appropriate way to re-acquaint yourself with your former acquaintances.

Not to mention that you started the sentence with an auxillary verb. And, really, that should have been two sentences. I will forgo the grammatical faux pas but the overall nature of the post was just not right. You should have toned it down a little.
