Hello, I'm a J-League Fan!
This season was very interesting, with a lot of new talent crossing over the J-League! As you probably know, Jubilo won, AGAIN, after beating Shimizu S-Pulse in the final.
The MVP award went to S-Pulse midfielder ALEX, and the Golden Boot award went to Korean HWANG of Cerezo Osaka for scoring 24 goals this season. The J-League XI looked something like this:
GK Sanada-Shimizu? should of beenKawaguchi
DEF Not sure
MID Ono-Urawa
Alex-Shimizu
Nakamura-Yokohama
Stojkovic-Nagoya
FOR Hwang-Cerezo
Jo-Yokohama
The one area the J-League should improve on is defence.
World Dreams, led by Roberto Baggio, Leonardo, Alex, and Hwang beat Japan Dreams 3-1 in the JOMO CUP in October.
Considering Yokohama F Marinos are a new team, they did very well, finishing 3rd this season. Kawaguchi, Jo, Matsuda,Miura and Nakamura played key roles this season. The only thing they lacked was foreign players, though Yoo Sanchul and Valber had very successful seasons. Now with a new manager, Ossie Ardiles, maybe Yokohama can make some better transfers for a change.
Oh yeah, Kashiwa Reysol won the Nabisco Cup.
Hope this has helped you.
Simon
