Personally I think Carragher has bottled it , when your country calls you how can you not want to even be on the bench.

I was driving home from work when he rang them, he sounded like a spoilt overindulged prima-donna. It's the England coach's job to pick the side, and obviously he thinks there are more suitable players ahead of Carragher.

Talksport can be a load crap at times. Sh*t stiring just to get people to call up. Adrian Durham being the chief culprit. Sure Carragher bit, but it's about time someone told Adrian Durham where to go.

I don't blame him, I'd be pissed off if Wes Brown would get picked ahead of me. And I'd rather train with the club than with the national team and end up not playing at all.

Though he shouldn't retire.

Why all the slating of Wes Brown? He's proven this year that he's worthy of his place at United. Carragher is a top class centre back and imo he should be 3rd choice centre back (alongside with Woodgate) behind Rio and Terry, his experience and ability to perform in big games. He's a versatile, consistent player that would be a huge asset to the England team.

Having said that, it does seem like he's overreacted but the guys on TalkSport did completely winding him up.

Bit suprised Jamie would call in and argue his decision, but at the same time you can`t blame him. To say he has no bottle, who had the stones to step up and take Englands last penalty kick against portugal in the world cup... no bottle my arse. A player with his talent can`t get second stage to so many rubbish players.

Well done Carragher for giving it to Durham. Durham's show is always rudely provocative and the guy is a plank, but he called Carragher a bottler ON AIR. That was the wrong word to use because a bottler, Carragher is not.

I have mixed views about his decision though. On one hand I think he should stick in there and fight for his place. Although to be fair he has been fighting for a regular place for years and still Brown gets ahead of himin selection. I think that would piss any player of Carraghers age off.

On the other hand though, its his life and he should be able to do what he pleases without some know nothing radio jock getting on his case.. Personally I would say, thanks Jamie for all the effort you gave England over the years and good luck in the future.

If you need a case of an England player throwing his toys out of the pram, then look no further than Chris Sutton. Carraghers case is NOTHING like that.
