Jesus Gil dies after stroke

MADRID, May 14 (Reuters) - Jesus Gil, owner of Atletico Madrid and one-time mayor of the glitzy resort of Marbella, died on Friday after six days in hospital, local media have reported.

Gil, 71, suffered a stroke on Sunday and was admitted to hospital in the Spanish city of Talavera de la Reina before being transferred to a Madrid clinic.

He defended his team the best he could.

Mixing politics and strange interests without a big party to back him was his biggest mistake.

He was like the crazy man who usualy says big stupidities but also sometimes says someting true that nobody else is brave enough to say.

Lately he was much more relaxed and controling his words.
