Well, regardless of what you think of him on the field, Ronaldo does a huge amout of charity contributions for children in poor countries, and uses his fame for raising funds for those types of organizations. Talk about beating a dead horse. How much people has complained about this now? That might of been a dark period in Cantona's career, but his best moments far outweigh that one moment, therefore you have no case.
And ShearerM4, I dont see your problem with Ronaldo. Sure he whines alot when he's fouled in matches, but he's eliminated the diving comepletely, he only goes down when he's genuinely fouled, and he's improved his game immensely, cut him some slack man.

I wouldn't say that Ronaldo has completely it completely from his game, he still goes down easily on occasion, but he doesn't do it any more or more notably than most wingers and strikers do in the Premiership. As of late, he has been in excellent form, so he hasn't really had the need to dive or go down because he is finishing his chances and cleanly beating his men at will. It will be interesting to see how his behavior is when he comes down off this hot streak, because sadly, it won't last forever.
And I don't believe that Cantona is hypocritical for doing this. He entertained on the field, he was a brilliant player regardless of what team you supported.

Players like Ronaldo, Drogba, Robben, etc. have a more speed/dribbling/1-on-1 style so they are bound to get more harsh contacts and fouled more often than, lets say, Lampard. I don't like it, but doesn't surprise me to see them trying to take advantage of a defender who usually resorts to crushing bones to stop them...

Stop diving, playacting, time wasting... Aren't all those things generally a part of what we call 'FAIR PLAY'? Doesn't Cantona talk about the beauty of the game? That pic rony31 posted is one of the worse moments of the past decade in what fair-play and beauty of the game is concerned.
Having said that, I think the tv spots are a good idea, but they should consider getting someone else to cast their lead roles.
