Just Played EA's FIFA WC 2006 Demo . EA At There Best .....




And there best is , Stadia , Intros cut scenes and commentary ! These thing are a site to behold a thing of beauty. The goal cut scene and corners, the crowd at a corner looked very good as the camera was in behind them up in the stands. The replays of goals and the animation of players in these cut scenes is spot on and in the game to the animation looks nice. I don't know if I could have scored the goal I did in PES , from just inside the corner of the 18yrds box I curled one into the far corner, I don't know if you can curve the ball in FWC??? but from the spot and facing straight across the box I got my foot around the ball and it went curling into the far corner of the net ..

but as with everything EA where the FIFA series is concerned, the overall game play and ball physics arel not a patch on PES ...

Older guys might recall a (UK) program called "The Prisoner" cult 1960's TV , and if anyone tried to escape up out of the sea came this very large white ballon that wobbled as it moved and bounced over the sea and land until it press against the person trying to get away..

Well the ball in FIFA WC 2006 is a slightly more solid version of that ballon and the way it bounces and moves through the air is ringer for that orb from that old TV show ...

Now if Konami could only do the stadia , intro scenes cut scenes goal replays and commentary of FIFA WC 2006. And a few tweaks to the current PES gameplay .. I would be one happy bunny !!

all the intro glitz and glamour, can't cover up what is a piss poor effort again from EA, only 2 things impress me with FIFA, and that is the menus and commentary, i'll download again when the demo hits the 360, maybe it will lift my enthusiasam a bit for this very tired series

just played it too.. i liked the commentary.. but poor ballphysics.. (look at lobs and crosses :/ ) i liked the "passing-around" though :)

The animations are so crap. Whats the point of "great" ( think they are ugly) graphics if the animations suck.
Oh and i dont even wat to commenate more to this demo. :jap:

get the 64mb demo of fifax and set your game speed to 0. you'll like more. The ball doesn't bounce has much. i think they set the speed way too fast in the original so the ball physics were affected.

Juz played the demo. I think I'm gonna get this one, even though its not that good but the features/modes are interesting, graphics sucks to the max, gameplay still sucks compared to WE, but the athmosphere and commentary was impressive (Y) I juz want to have 'that' feeling of playing a WC game, even though gameplay sucks but at least it is good enough for me, personally. Good game to play for a short period of time. Will never buy their Fifa series because can't stand playing it for long period of time, so the WE series will always be 'must buy' game (Y)

That's one of the key things, atmosphere. As good as WE/PES is, it lacks more and more atmosphere every year because of the poor chants, (lack of) supporters, unlicensed environment so you can't have any real banners or anything. There's more to a game than just gameplay, there are things that add to the whole experience. Unfortunately, Konami have the gameplay but FIFA has everything else.

I'll definitely get it for the 360 when it comes out, partly because I want to play a World Cup mode and secondly because Konami aren't going to be releasing any WE title for the 360 here in the States for over another year.

I just try fifa06 wc demo.

What a crap is fifa :kader: :kader: I cant believe. Even we2002 have better animation and ball movement.

In fifa ball fell like a baloon and movement is bad.


On the other side:
Presentation is very good and athmosphere.

why do so many mention the presentation? F**k presentation! If i present you a piece of dogcrap on a golden plate, will you buy it? Or will you buy a diamond wrapped in toiletpaper? :jap:

What kills u as a PES/WE gamer is that 'presentation-sounds-menus-camera angle' are all MINOR issues, easily done, but KONAMI doesn't bother fixing them.

sure Fifa WC is a crappy game... just watch the videos.

u simply can't go back from PES/WE to Fifa.

But I'd WISH Konami dedicated only a month to addressing its atmosphere/menu issues.

i tried to play pes/we games many times but actually those menues with that crappy and really ugly font and design of every thing kills me...hehe,of course its a bit hard to learn to play with other keys,but thats really ugly...
