Capello: Trezeguet is the best
Juventus coach Fabio Capello labelled French striker David Trezeguet the 'best there is' after his two goals gave the Italian side a 2-1 Champions League win over Bayern Munich on Wednesday (Thursday morning AEDT).

Trezeguet gave Juve the lead and after Sebastian Deisler brought Bayern level, the Frenchman struck again for the 85th minute winner.

"Inside the area he has few rivals with his agility and his finishing ability. I would say that at the moment he is the best there is," said the Juventus coach whose team are now level with Bayern on nine points at the top of Group A.

"It was a difficult game as we expected against a team that was solid and strong technically - it wasn't easy to overcome them," said Capello.

"They are dangerous at set pieces and they showed that with a header that went close and then the goal they got."

"I was very satisfied with the result, against an excellent, excellent team who are strong physically and technically. I think Bayern will cause problems for everyone they play," said Capello who altered his formation radically throughout the game.

The Juve coach even took off winger Mauro Camoranesi just 18 minutes after he had entered the field.

"Camoranesi came on and looked nervous and never got in the game so I thought I would replace him with (Adrian) Mutu," he said.

Bayern coach Felix Magath had no complaints about the result or the way his team took on Juventus.

"It was a tough game as you know it is going to be at Juve. We were able to play well but Juve found a way to push on a bit more but they were the ones who absolutely had to win this game," he said.

"They got the upper hand over us as the game went on but I'm very pleased with the performance from the lads over 90 minutes. It was annoying to give those goals away though," added Magath who said Bayern remained in a strong position in the competition.

"Now we want to get the three points against Rapid to make up for this and move towards our aim of qualification," he said.

on the camo thing i'm not sure, all i can think of is that he wasn't match prepared (he really looked like he wasn't) and capello saw it as a liability and took him off, or he may have aggrivated an injury

in other news nedved has come out of internation retirement to play in the world cup qualifiers for the czechs on the 12th and 16th of november

not the best news considering he's looked sluggish and/or made of glass at times this year, although he made a definite impact vs bayern

this is stupid. he shouldve come out of retirement way before, if he planned to do it. now it just looks like he wants to join in on the fun.

no its a crucial qualifier and the team wanted him back. Going into a high pressure sudden death game like that isn't exactly joining in on the fun.

guys i should apologise for an error i made earlier today. it is 6 to midnite here in perth, australia and i realised i made a mistake whn i looked at my msn nick. i put happy 107th bday after being founded in 1897. then i though that isnt right. so juve in fact are 108 yrs old now and not 107 as i previously stated.

Buffon took to the field on Monday and has started traning with the ball. (Y)

He is set for a December return as previously predicted but the way his recovery is going, he could be back as early as the game vs Treviso on the 27th of this month.

We need him back asap ! He won't have any immediate pressure on his return seeing how Juve are doing supremely well in both competitions.

if the Czechs make it, its going to be "on the wings of Nedved", and if they fail "Nedved disrupted the harmony of the team". its not going to be fair, however it goes. meh, noone really retires these days i guess.

and ? whats wrong with that ? Its not like he hasn't carried the Czechs before. He isn't getting paid for it or getting any extra undeserved attention like you're implying. If he ends up playing a vital part then he would deserve the adulation and if he doesn't well at least he tried. He has had his fair share of attention throughout his amazing career and he has already achieved the legendary status. Nothing he does from now on will surprise anyone just like nothing he does on the field will tarnish his image.

It seemed like the Czechs would qualify pretty comfortably early on but it has come down to a playoff. Its his country he is trying to help in a crucial situation and playing a couple of games that could make such a huge impact for his country is a wonderful thing to do on his part. He realizes his playsical limitations and its just 2 games at a time where Juve are top of the league and have already qualified for the next round of the CL.

I don't see the problem.

well ice we havent yet qualified for the next phase of the ucl. but we should qualify. the rst of what u said i have to agree with. i totally agee with him going to help the czechs again. i remember watching macedonia vs the czechs and not seeing pavel out there. it was sort of odd. his one last dance could be what saves the czechs. good luck nedved, good luck the czechs. beeen macedonian and having been destroyed by the czech in the qualifiers i wish them the best of luck.

I think you're just trying to hold in your anger and disappointment, rather than you've moved on :p besides, Milan lost to PSV, I gotta find someone to pick on, and what better place to look than here (H)

and I think Milan should terminate Abbiati's loan and make Juve play the rest of the month with Chimenti in goal... we'd build up at least a 10 point lead by December :fluffy:

if they make it to the WC he'll play there too

if he has extended his contract with us then that would be a worry. i dont want him getting injured in germany. but isnt it his last season with us. if thats the case it wouldnt matter as much. when does his contract end?
