rrrre, you must be out of your mind. One thing that i haven't seen happen yet is one of those situations where the goalie doesn't move. A goalie reacts to any ball. Also, you guys can control the goalie in the game but i think you could do that in PES4 too.

One more thing is that you see the goalie stretching out more when he jumps, lot of diving saves rather than collecting saves.

I have the first WE8 game that came out on ps2.... I played my cousins WE8I ps2 US version and it feels a lot different..... Especially in the midfield it feels like there is mad loose balls left and right...... so there is more 50/50 chances for both sides...... Dont know if anybody else noticed this......

Also the ball feels heavier in WE8I and shooting from long range feels waaaaaaaaaaaay more comftorable.....:rockman:

W8I also has slowdown but its not horrific like WE8......

The goalie situation seemed the same to me in both games.....But for sum reason in WE8I I think there is a lot more shots bubbled by the keeper.......

I havent played pes4 at all so i dont know if there is any difference from WE8I......

i hope it doesn't turn out to be the same as pes4 (in regards to the keepers) It kind of takes the excitement away from a close shot if you see the keeper standing there all the time. It doesn't make it feel close at all...

Keepers will still casually stand there and watch a ball go inches wide.

It's like they've got some sort of spider-sense and they just KNOW the shot is not on target.

I don't think it happens as much as it did in PES4, but it's does happen.

Unfortunately it's the same as in PES4...

There's about 1% (or less) chance that the keeper will dive for a ball that goes off targer or stand when a ball goes on target.

There's probably a bug in the keeper AI. Obviously they didn't want the keepers going for a shot that goes blatantly far or high, but they probably buggered the distance calculation.

Also, has anyone else noticed that keepers react a LOT faster, almost instanteneusly to shots than they do to headers?

what drugs are you guys on......gk=exact same..i even recorded video proof with replays of the computer scoring on me 4 times in 5 matches with a gay goal my goalie watches fly by while doing nothing.....same as pes4..as we8i IS pes4 with a minor online fix.....thus the european languages option during install..yet you only get spanish and english....quit imagining stuff you guys....konami will never make we8i improved for the usa market...if you owned konami would you spend money to make a game better for the worlds smallest football market?..not to mention one brainwashed by EA more than others....its a simple business decision....that any person investing millions would make....i know alot of you guys want to feel special by playing this usa version of the game...and theres nothing wrong with that...but it is what it is...pes4 in a dress...

khseol what version of WE8I are you playing????????
pc or ps2.......

because I had about 20-30 games on the ps2 version and I didnt see any so called "gay" goals....... ON close range shots the keeper somtimes did not dive BUT that is realistic.......goalies dont dive when your around the penalty and blast it to a corner........ or if u header from close rang....

from out the box I saw the Goalie dive for every single shot that was on target....... but there calculations are sometimes ridiculous when the ball only goes an inch wide they just watch it as if they are 96% sure its not goin in.........

maybe the keeper situation is diff from ps2 to pc????

The reason why the keepers dont move is because the game has it scripted so they KNOW the shot is going wide, but what konami didnt think of is swerves or bounces.

If you look closely at a goal when the keeper doesnt move, you will realise the shot was going wide to begin with but took a bounce or swerved, but then perhaps the shot was too strong and accurate for the keeper to get to so he stays still, like in real life.

But everytime I have seen the keeper stand still, I checked the replay and it was going wide but just snuck in the goal.

well, i'm talking about ps2, is it different for pc?

and even playing pes4 demo i realize that what kingpug says is true.

While I agree with some of this, I don't think it's a case of spending money to make a game better; I think that Konami, during the life cycle of the game, develops all kinds of code, and slects among combinations of code to produce combinations of gameplay for their respective markets.

So, for example, when there's a higher occurence of handballs in WE8:I as opposed to PES4, I don't think that resulted in any investment to produce a better game for the US, but rather a selection of different code already developed but not put into play in PES4, that's been put into play for WE8:I.

the same may be the case for the GK, but I must say that I, like you, haven't noticed a substantive difference in the keepers.

I HAVE noticed a difference in handballs though; like I said, I don't think that this comes down to anything other than Konami having developed "X" as the sum total og gameplay code and combinations, picking and choosing aspects thereof to polish various elements of gameplay they think will (1) appeal to that specific market, and (2) will allow just enough difference in the game, or dicsussion thereabouts, to promote cross-regional purchases, which it clearly has.
