He only joined in 2000 by which time we'd won the European Cup and the league numerous times already, all he had to do was sit there, which he did. He didn't bring any bargains in and sold our best 2 creative players, great.

I don't think Man Utd will suffer from the loss nor will Chelsea gain a great deal if he's as "successful" as he was at united with chelski.

And who could claim to be a "fan" of a team and jump ship to another?? For money maybe? Well, as a fan I know I wouldn't jump ship for money regardless of how many millions, Kenyon's a greedy "business" man not a fan.

i just want to know if people consider sir alex and man utd sellouts also b/c they sold Beckham....Beckham was the most popular guy on the team and the fans loved him the most....but they sold him....but it was a business move right ?....same with Kenyon....

so when someone leaves man utd they are a sellout but if man utd dumps them man utd arent sellouts ?....its gotta work both ways

I cant believe the narrow mindedness that some people have still.
Im neither a Chelea or Scum Utd fan (obviously!), Id like to feel that i hate each team equally :).
However you've got to respect Kenyon, he and Martin Edwards have been the driving force for Utd in the last 3 years ... making more than £400 Million. Now you Man Utd fans that the "club brand" made that mnoney. however when Kenyon was apointed from Umbro, he created Man Utd as a comercial product, and therefore all profit from this has to be down to him!

Chelsea have done well to land him ... i bet he didnt reaslly want to leave the club he loves but if you were offered a reported £1mil a year contract wouldnt you accept!!

Just a point to people who think Kenyons gonna go running to Roman with all the juicy contract details : There is actually a law that provents such happening, of course its hard to know if its been broken, however if Chelsea did "bid" for a Utd player then im guessing the relevent authorities would investigate fully!

This is purely a business deal, nothing at all do to with the footballing sid eof things. Kenyon ran Man Utd PLC as a commercial product, and has been brought to Chelsea to try and do the ssame.

Ah buggery im rambling now :). Sorry but bitching Man Utd fans who like to blame thier teams failure to land a ****ty Brazilian winger on one of the best businessmen in the country kinda pisses me off!
Beckham was forced out by Ferguson, not Kenyon ... any of you been reading his Autobiography?? I certainly have ... its an interesting read.!

If you ever went to a match at OT you'd see that he was hardly the most popular player with the fans.

Martin Edwards was the man responsible for the commercial success of Manchester United, but it's the success right at football's boom-time brought by Alex Ferguson that made it all the more successful. To give Kenyon credit for making United a commercial success it is wrong, to give him credit for continuing it is justified.

I've stated this before but his main achievements was in inculding the fans in things and in building a good relationship with Ferguson (something that Edwards couldn't do). He did well commercially too, but I can't see that being overly difficult for a businessman, with the worldwide recognition that Man Utd have.

a player would be loved by the fans for a reason, ronaldo was famous for scoring goals and getting that freak injury... while becks was famous for his trends and zidane was famous for his skills.... kenyon to chelsea would be a bad move cause companies like Emirates and Umbro may not be a sponsor with Chelsea next season.....
