Any idea why I can't get the numbers & collars to change Juce, did you get my email ?.

@Zakhov
just tried it with the pes3.exe from Wolf PES EPL Final Patch, and it works fine for me. (The exe file is PES 1.0 no-cd)...

Question for you: when you first ran kserv.exe, did it show the "INFORMATION" message box to you? Or was there a "WARNING" message window?

@Pavel (adam)
Yes, i received your attrib.cfg, and it seems totally fine... Not sure what's going on there. :( One (rather extreme) option is to zip the pes3.exe file and upload it somewhere on the SG-corner FTP site, so i can download it and try on my computer. I doubt it would shed any light on this though.... but that's an option.

One more thing: the kit file names in KDB\players folder correspond to section names in attrib.cfg, right? (stupid question i know, but must check).

cut and paste into a PM and I'll have a look

Jim & Juce,

Thanks for the offer of help, much appreciated, but I've worked it out for myself, there is nothing wrong with the attrib.cfg file, it's me being stupid & using edited colours for existing teams names & numbers, as soon as I changed this to default the colours changed perfectly !. Fool I am !.

adam,
great! i'm glad it works now. certainly, you're no fool, since you fixed it yourself :)

thanks for telling what the problem (and the fix) was. I completely forgot about the possibility of edited colors and numbers!

Yeah, so since they are probably stored in an options file, it's necessary to revert back to default colours, because these are the ones that kitserver actually modifies. This is an important piece of information - i'll add it to the README file for next release.

Thanks Juce, I forgot to add that the collars are fine too. It sure is a great tool.

question to WE7:I owners:

When you edit a strip (in Edit Mode), is there way to say whether a kit should have collar or not?

In PES3, it appears to be no way to change that. If the default strip has collar, then the edited strip will have collar too.

no way, the only kit options for a team that has collar is collared kits (this will be because the collar info is stored in the exe, not the option file I believe)

it may be possible with the option file editors as they allow both kinds to be chosen, haven't tested it in game though

damn, i think i know why the kitserver wouldn't work.i turned off the win98/me compatibility mode and walah!!!it worked but my game runs like crap(screwed controls in the menu screen))without the compatibility mode.any other ideas, juce_66?:(

P.S-about your question earlier,
the kitserver does not have any problems whatsoever detecting my pes3.exe either i enable win98/me compatibilty mode or not.its just that
i don't see any stars when i enable the compatibility mode.hope u got that.im starting to think that this program wouldn't work if we enable
the compatibility mode for pes3.exe,
can u confirm this?

thx

tried it on Windows XP with compatibility mode set to "Windows 98/Windows Me" and also to "Windows 95". Works fine for me - the blue star appears and the extra kit selection works.

Also tried on Windows 2000 with compatibility mode set to "Windows 98" and "Windows 95". Same story - works totally fine...

Anybody else have a problem with kitserver when running the game in compatibility mode?

yup. same here.
Green square doesn't show up, so something is wrong. Will try to fix that for next version of Taksi.

this is weird, guys. Hard to tell what's going on really. And i don't have a windows 98 machine to debug this problem...

However, there is hope. :)
I'm working on the new version of the KitServer, which will have a different architecture to it. It will be basically a "plug-in" for PES3 (or WE7i). So, once you install it, it becomes part of the game itself: no need to run kserv.exe (in fact, there won't be a kserv.exe anymore) - you just start the game, and the KitServer is in there. (You will have the option to disable it, of course, if you wanted, or uninstall completely.)

So, i believe, this will eliminate the problem that both of you are experiencing with running in compatibility mode, or on Windows 98 itself. (Not 100% sure, but chances are good.)

Looking forward to the new version mate. Like some others here, it works with my WE7I without compatibility mode but not otherwise. Pity since without that mode, my controls lose a significant degree of sensitity and I cant play that way.
