Known Regens CM 01/02

What players are known to regenerate all time time at certain points in the game? Is there any?

It's completely random..... from the best of my knowledge. There isn't really any set pattern in which to tell either.

When good players retire are their regens fairly good too, or is that random too?

Nope its not random, the regen in question is just as good, the potential is the same. You just gotta make sure he reaches it, if you get him early

As for Italy you should check Fiorentina & Atlanta

Regen hotspots:

Braintree (ENG)
Alfreton Town (ENG)
Treviso (ITA)
Arsenal (ENG)

Arsenal are very good at possessing quality English talents. Plus most of them get neglected so you can buy them for a reasonable price.

I'm angry that there isn't as many CM 01/02 threads. It is the best CM EVER! Whats a good CM 01/02 site that's still active?

Anyways, back to regens. They end up at clubs? I thought they appear as "No Club" in players search??

Most of them turn into Managers/Coaches thats the bad part

Some do. I've found myself turning a couple of my freebies into quality players. They could really turn up anywhere.

yeah some, no, most will start off as youngsters, if you have something called CMScout at the start of every season you could look through the 'new' youngsters that have come up in ur team, to see if any are regens! always good fun, if slightly cheating.

You mean SI staff? They did it for CM4 and 03/04, so I bet they also did it for earlier versions. try searching the developer names under 'credits'.

My friend said that if you give a player a nickname before they retire they come back with that nickname.....

Not So!

Gary Taggert retired for me at Leicester in 2006, so I decided to test this theory of my friends. I gave him the creative nickname of Tággori . After the regens were generated I looked for the name Tággori. Only too find that he was a Right and Central Midfielder called Mark Brady playing for Guiesny
He was also an incredibly poor player!

So we now know that doesn't work because

A) regens keep the original position
regens also have the same ability & Potential

This player had neither, Bah, Bah I say

It doesn't matter. Once a player has stopped playing he can be a coach or a manager and his regen will still come through. So for example, you could have Aimar as a coach at your club whilst also buying his regen if he (Aimar) is completely retired from playing and not a player/coach or player/manager.

Don't you mean GPF2? CMScout will not tell you who a player has been in a 'former life', just what their potential is and their hidden stats such as loyalty and injuty proneness. Also, ANY new player who appears is a regen of a former player.

Do regen's have the same first and last names as the retiered player or only last names?
