I think you misunderstood the term 'A-League'. It is the name of the Australian league. The A doesnt mean 'First', but Australia. It's how loads of the major Asian Confederation nations name their league.mrliioadin;2343252 said:Mean no offense of course but I love when people just call it the A league or premier league. there are probably hundreds on the planet by both names.:funny:
eg. K-League for Korea, J-League for Japan etc
Google "A league" or "A-League" and see what comes up
I understand why you could get annoyed at Premier League, but it is no worse (actually probably more specific, since it was a break away tournament originally, with that specific name) than "La Liga" in spain, which just means The League, or Serie A which of course just means A Series...It's just that Spanish and Italian are much less used languages, so they get away with it...But at the end of the day, 99% of Football fans, know La Liga: Español Primera Liga. They know Serie A: Italiano Serie A, and the Premiership, or Premier League: The English Premier League/Premiership..
Where as 'La Liga' could be ANY league (most likely a spanish speaking country tho ) , Premier League could easily be the Scottish Premier League etc, at a Football forum, Im sure everyone knows what we're talking about...
And with A-League, I would like you to find another country in the world that uses this term for their league
