only 6 years for killing a man?
Let me give you guys a crazy debate going inside my head at the momemt between two groups that have decided to premanently camp within my head space......
"causing death by dangerous driving"
gaaaaarrrrrrh......no, no, no....it's murder, murder I tell yah.....no, no, no......there was no intent to kill here, it was an accident.....a manslaughter......but his stupidity, negligence and mismanagement of his vehicle killed someone....Jesus....Vehicular homicide, man, Vehicular homicide I tell yah....put 'em away for life...not six years.....kill 'em even, man......arrrrgghhhh....chabbawwawa...cheewwededurrrd...coin, loin, mow my loin........

nah man what he did it's like walking around the street firing an automatic gun randomly, someone will get hurt sooner or later (stupid comparison but I think you get the point)
I'm not sure whether anyone should go to prison for an offence like this. OK it was through his own carelessness that it happened but having made the mistake he's not going to do it again. It's going to have done enough to him mentally already without having to sit in prison thinking about it.

I'd like to see if you kept that opinion, had he killed a member of your family or someone you knew.
You don't think finding you've killed someone is enough of a punishment for driving without due care? All he did after was the same as any other human would have done- he panicked- and that led him to do the wrong thing.
And Virgo, I would try to keep the same opinion as I see no reason that it is better for two families to be ripped apart as one. I he had killed someone on purpose then it is different but he was simply unlucky. I know it's easy for me to say but I would think that only a very small percentage of the driving population could honestly say that they have never been careless when they were driving and although it's wrong I think that having to deal with the mental torture that will be caused by knowing you've killed someone through your carelessness is enough of a punishment.

man people don't f*ck up more often because there are punishments. The day that stops happening people will just stop caring less and it will be chaos.
If you consider most people are not really bad people and have reasons for their actions, maybe we should forgive everyone and empty the jails.
I'm not saying this wouldn't happen to me because I drive too and having an accident can happen to everyone, you don't even need to be drunk or careless, it can just happen, but driving drunk and hitting two cars in one night takes it into a new dimension.
Had exactly this happened to me I think I'd face the consequences and be happy to get just 6 years.
