i have been playing fifa for almost 5 years with the introlduction by a friend to fifa 97 and carried to fifa 2000 and finishing at fifa 2004 before searching for a better football title and finding WE7/PES3 then settling to PES4
make no assumption that i am a PES fan because i am both fifa and PES. i do not rule any of them out! but state facts
i have compared many games in my day especially EA titles such as f1 series and GP4, NASCAR and papyrus NBA live and sega n2k
there only one way to solve this problem,
if Konami had the license and copyright rights to the governing football body FIFA. which EA has for a very long time...
since Konami don't. it hasn't enabled them the opportunity to create the vast array of power of official football.
remember, Electrionic Arts is one of the a larges gaming business in the world giving them the ability and financial stability to aquire the official FIFA license that has access to almost all areas of the virtual football world
Konami like other football franchises such as Sony's TIF2005 etc...
without the uphold of the FIFA license have a limited potiential to create a proper football simulation. thefore cannot exceed in that "AREA" of dominance over EA's fifa series.
all football simulation franchises have the ability to create a potiential football game with that license, but it is up to the developer to make full use of the potiential that license brings...
but is up to the consumer to define realism and glamour
if Konami had EA's FIFA license, this forum will be a whole new ball game
so in conclusion, fifa is only dominant because they have the license eg: the holy grail of virtual football, but... thats alll they have... the license itself is only glamor
its really the game and its ability to create football that appeals the the consumer
its up to you to figure this out, realism or glamour??
