Please make sure you have read everything on the first page particularly the warnings about the heavily edited attributes and be sure you back up your files before you install anything.

EDIT: Just realized this is the 500th post in this thread.

Anyway, I wanted to provide some notes on what updates I've been doing.

My primary focus is to get all of the teams reattributed to the same scale which is daughting only because I attributed the origional 41 a certain way, added 10 teams, changed the attributing method again and added about 20 teams, then settled on the system I have now. Which meant backtracking quite a bit.

There was also a spell when I was creating teams with only 16 players, my goal was to solve both issues at once since the teams with 16 players need to be reattributed as well in every case save maybe 2.

So, at the moment I have 14 teams left with only 16 players. I also need to reattribute about 42 teams. Most of these require very little to get them completed and i'de say 70% of the errors are in the second tier teams of Asia. I've been continuing to play my Euro Cup and am soon to kick off the west asian cup so I have been trying to edit the teams from both of those competitions. Bosnia-Herzegovina is much much more competitive now, Montenegro looks a lot better after some formation changes, and the asian teams are showing strength when they otherwise looked rather harmless. Iraq in particular is appearing rather strong which is consistent with their results at the AFC Asia Cup.

For all it's faults the conflict in Iraq did see to it that Iraqi international footballers are no longer tortured when they loose a match and hopefully this sort of silver lining is manifesting itself in other areas of the nation as well. Off the subject of politics and war, and I don't want to spoil any results but the Iraqi team have performed miraculously so far in the AFC Asia Cup and I hope their success continues.

I managed to get things fixed by re-installing CM07 and reloading the patch.
Dunno why it occured in first place.
I'll try to update my game with the rest of the patches soon.

BTW I noticed Mayotte played a friendly against Madagascar few days ago. Haven't been able to find a rooster yet though..

I'm hoping we can track down a roster for Mayotte and many of the other unaffiliated teams, I do want to start adding them. Thanks for the heads up and let me know if you find mayotte's roster anywhere.

AFC Asian Cup...

I know this isnt the right place but could someone please help me out...

I created the AFC Asian Cup tournament based on real-life qualifiactions...

I created the tournament using id 112 (reading from an earlier post to prevent randomization of teams from groups), but only 2 teams remain from each group the other 2 are random...

The qualifying roung, group stage1, group stage2 appear as round2, round3 and round4 in the actual game...

Also the loser of the semi-final 1 ends up in the final...

I'm trying to understand fully but unfortunately I got a little lost through part of it.

But I can help with this part:

The loser of a semi final advancing to the final is an old bug from tournament master that I don't think Rinaldo quite worked out. Even if you completely undo the tournament from scratch, in most cases this anomoly will still occur. To fix that problem unfortunately you need to delete the tournament and start again.

I find the best way to test a tournament is to do it round by round. Make just the knockout stage first. Go into the game and simulate each match and record the results. Make sure the team that wins the match is advancing properly. Once you are sure all of the knockout stage is working properly, build of of the 4 groups in the group stage and tie them into the knockout stage... make sure they are playing the right number of games and advancing properly. And so on and so on...

It's tedious but it's effective. you can be sure that your tournaments are working properly before you do too much work on any one of them.

Updates for 25 July '07. As forementioned I did a lot of work to make sure all teams had 23 players, while some are still short, I fixed many of them and put a lot of work into reattributing the east coast of Africa, the Middle East, and much of europe.

this patch includes all confederations and has not been tested yet. If it fails for any reason let me know.

One question though; it takes ages to import the patch. Is it the patch itself or CM07 that faults? Surely a faster way must be available..

For whatever reason, randomly one of the teams or players won't get recorded properly in the CMP patch... so when you get to that team/player... it crashes and none of the teams are imported.

The only reason I favor doing it all in one patch like this, is because I think it sets itself up better for starting the patch before you go to work or bed, and being finished when you get home.

I will in the future release it broken down into the confederations and as a single massive patch, so users can pick how they want to import it.

This week I had very little time to actually make the patch so I just released it however I could. We had a busy Tues/Weds.

National Teams in manager mode, may be solved

BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING, BACK UP YOUR ENTIRE FIFA DATA FOLDER... IF YOU PLAN ON READING THIS ENTIRE POST, IT MAY BE WORTH IT TO GO AHEAD AND START YOUR BACKUP RIGHT NOW WHILE YOU READ. IT'S NEVER A BAD IDEA TO HAVE ANOTHER BACKUP AVAILABLE ANYWAY. I LOVE THE SHIFT KEY!

Alright, With the new CM07 Beta, it is possible to create players seperate from their origionals. I think this is the key, final step to creating national team leagues that will work in CM'07

Because of the precise way that the teams need to be loaded in, I'm not sure I will be able to create a cmp patch to do it for us. Since I heavily favor cmp patches I don't want to release a regular patch that may or may not be properly created (since I'm still learning) that may also not be compatible with CM07 or other CMP patches.

While I'm sure I can find a way around most compatibility issues, I wouldn't want to release that patch until I the patch was 100% complete.

Doing this yourself will not be quick, but it will work. And I think the result will be worth it.

So, Without any more background, here's how to do what you need to do.

First, move all of your national teams to the "International League"

Second, Decide on a confederation, like CONMEBOL for example (which I recommed since it is smaller will make the task much more managable), and decide how many leagues you want to make. Since CONMEBOL uses a league setup for their WC qualifying, we can probably just do a single league of 10 teams who's top 5 qualify for the world cup.

Third, Create a patch exactly as I say - Under the teams tab, you want to make sure you select "database info" and "linked players" as well as any graphical information you want to pass on. Under the players catagory select everything but linked shoes (unless you absolutely want to... it shouldn't make a difference but will slow down the patch times)... Click Create!

Fourth, Go into the patch loader screen. open the patch you just created, and set every single item (teams and players) to create(This takes a while). Then import the patch.

After it's done importing, if you go into the teams tab in the main window, you should find two of each team you created (for instance two Brazil's)... to ensure you did it properly, search for brazil, then click on the Ronaldinho listed... if he is on Barca and Brazil, you are looking at the origional Ronaldinho, and the origional Brazil. If he is ONLY on Brazil, you are looking at the new one. Search each old instance of each team you are working with, and rename it slightly. Perhaps Brazil* or Brazil ^. Make sure that the new copy has a seperate name from that of the origional. An example of what I just mentioned:

Search for Brazil:

Old instance = Brazil* (with players on clubs and the national team)
New instance = Brazil (with players ONLY on one team Brazil)

Make sure that the players on the NEW instance Brazil are NOT on more than one Brazil team. It should be one and only one.

Once you have properly renamed ALL old instance teams save and close the database.

Open it again, and create your new league. For me I called the league simply "CONMEBOL" Use the team's available drop down menu to search and insert all NEW INSTANCE teams in the new league.

Go into Tournament master and create the new tournament. Make sure you set the Asset ID\League ID with the actual league ID from the newly created CONMEBOL League. Use get teams from league to ensure they are properly linked.

Once you set up your tournament (which by the way if you haven't done before, may crash on you the first couple of times, I think there are tutorials available on setting up tournaments but if you can't find any let me know and I'll make one or give you some pointers) I would save and go into the game, then TOURNAMENT MODE and try it out there first, if it works, try it in manager mode. See what happens. I would suggest simulating your way through many of the games and not bother to save, just see if the league works properly and make sure it doesn't crash.

There are other issues related to the national teams in manager mode that we will work out later but I am still trying this out (haven't had much time lately) and I hope others will give it a shot too. The first goal I think should be making sure we can advance through many season's without crashing.

After that, we'll work on keeping players on their national teams, making sure the budgets are effective to keep all of your players signed and happy, and any other odd issues we come across.

Good luck guys, and as always, if no one tries this out I take no offense, but I do think you'll enjoy the finished product.

EDIT:

I'm not going to release an update patch this week, I haven't made any serious adjustments since I had no chance to touch my computer from thurs-saturday and I spent all day sunday trying to get national teams working in manager mode. For my by the way, they are working. You have to watch your budget very carefully, as well as your expiring contracts. I accidentally let all but 4 players of my Guadeloupe team go. They had to forfiet every match of that season (but I still didn't get fired :P).

I think, for me at least, even more value will come from this with the ability to put together teams from the players on national teams, being able to develope a squad comprised of players from all 6 confederations and then march them towards the premiership will be quite fun... Now if only someone will make the Confrence National, and maybe the Confrence North and South... I can start with an even weaker squad and work my way through... C'mon somebody PLEASE!

I am using Mozilla and WinRAR.

Trust me, there are no files that are cmp in those downloads for me :(

I've updated with the latest patch but one problem occurs so far. The Ivory Coast team is messed up. The kits and logo are gone. I tried uploading a separate patch (the older one) but doesn't help. Help!

The files on file front are in CMP format, there is no way for them to change unless one of your programs is renaming them. Try downloading them from internet explorer and see what happens.

Here's the Cote d'Ivoire ... Since it has a different name, Patch master will prompt you to use "Create" ... make sure you replace Ivory Coast... Everything is included in here as well as new minikits by Walrus.
