You mean a big gamble by Liverpool? David Villa would have been a much more secure buy if they could have got him but Torres could turn out to be worth it.

Hopefully he does better than I am expecting him to do because he has the talent but for some reason he does not always come up with a good performance.

whats astonishing is Rafa always buys these average to above average players.Now that he has got money i would have expected him to get more high profile players except Torres.....what differnet are his sighnings than last season where if i recall correctly only Kuyt was well established player with some reputation

Voronin plays as striker, and a lot of times as an attacking mid as well. Unlike you though, i thought Babel was a striker.:mexican:

Liverpool really overpaid for Babel. He's nowhere near as consistent to play at Premier League level. To compare, he's still miles behind Salomon Kalou IMO... He can turn out very good though, but not in the next 2 or 3 years. Babel would've done better by staying at Ajax.

He certainly is better than Kalou, but I also think they paid to much money for him. I think the same about Nani, Anderson, Pepe, etc. so I think it's normal now.

Sorry, but why did you put Babel instead of Dirk Kuijt? In my opinion Kuyt is ways better than Babel. That's not because Kuyt played at Feyenoord and Babel played at Ajax, but Kuyt is further in his development and is constant playing good. Babel is a player that play some good matches, but also play very bad some times. Babel may become a good Liverpool-player but he isn't there ready. 11,500,000 is way too much for a player like Babel.
