long shots

When playing online a few people have scored from far out near the touch line can anyone give me any tips on how to do this.

ie do i lob the ball



please don't say practice

I think you have to go to a distance about just past the centre circle in your opponent's half, and then hold Z or C to curl, then hold D to shoot until the power up bar is like IIIIIII not the usual lllllllll. And then the ball will just fly pass the goalie, and the goalie does a stupid, lame jump at it. Very unrealistic by EA, but extremely effective.

And one more thing.....practise.

Is there a way to stop the long shots, they are really annoying. Like should I get a hex editor to change certain files. That bug makes the game virtually unplayable.

Do you know how to score from free kicks too? Like where to aim?

btw I'll have to try that technique . . .

After hours of testing I have found the right changes to make to stop this from th cpu but not the user. To stop the user from scoring those cheap goals you have to lower the shot assistance.

hold the curl button and give in almost full power (just before is goes on to the red)


and it should fly in

Hold curl then shoot with full power, but not out of scale. The power up bar should also look slightly different. It's difficult to explain, just practise a lot of times, and you should see that sometimes, the power up bar look different, when you put it to full power.

Scoring on Free Kicks

I've finally learned how to score on free kicks, here's how I do it - first, aim the arrow to where you would like to deposit the ball in the goal. If need be, raise or lower the height of the arrow. Next, set the curve (don't worry that the arrow now aims away from where you originally wanted - the shot will travel to where the arrow pointed when it was straight). Lastly, press the button and release just before it reaches red.

Oh yeah, it helps to have a highly skilled player take the free kick so make sure your team is set-up correctly.

Yeah, try scoring with a goalkeeper. It was fun seeing Chilavert score for me. Extremely funny, especially the usual celebration but with a goalkeeper. You can also try scoring with a goalkeeper dribbling whole pitch, that's funny as well.
