I am a family doctor. I usually wear shirt, trousers, no tie. So pretty much business casual wear. Thats how doctors dress in Canada and yes a lot of us wear running shoes to work. Anything that is comfortable since we often have to walk a lot especially when working in a hospital setting.

In general this is how we usually dress up:

No need for classic/dressy/shiny shoes with this kind of attire.

EDIT: Also Crocs are very common in the operating theatre which involves hours standing.

EDIT 2: A Cheapskate while wearing Clarks shoes? Never heard of that.
Wait, you'd wear that with those shoes you posted earlier with this look?

I tried to stick up for you, but you've dug your own grave.

That look is good. Those shoes are certainly not this look.

Went to the adidas store today and ordered the grey tubulars as they didn't have them in my size and also bought the black ZX Flux:

They do look better on feet:

That's not weird over here. I don't wear socks with sneakers either, and when I do I only wear below ankle socks (really low cut) that aren't showing.

I don't really think they look different, I'm just a snob. Going to check out a Suit Supply store in a couple weeks, I'm pretty curious.

I realised at about 3pm today before the ball that I left my shirt button studs at home...formal shirt with double holes....

Luckily Macy's had a cuff link set which had studs, but was pricy. They were MOP facing.

I would have just bought a shirt.
I did consider this, but it was masquerade theme, and so I took the opportunity to get the tails out.

White Marcella vest and bowtie would have looked strange with a plain white shirt.

Are there actually any good looking Adidas running shoes? Need to buy a pair for a gift, as far as I've been checking stuff out, I've seen some springblade and energy boost ones, both look like shit.

Running shoes as in gymwear/actually running? Sure

Assuming it's for a guy:

These are nice in almost every colourway

A little more limited in colourways but simple

I know you said you don't like energy boost but these old ones are nice in red and black

If they aren't for actual sport though that opens up a whole new can of worms

I totally seperate fitness clothes and shoes from actual style. Who cares. I'll honestly wear just about anything if I'm only in the gym or running.
