Then don't buy that shirt.
Rules are meant to be broken, but here are a few quick rules/guidelines
1) If you ever wear a nice t-shirt, wear a blazer over it.
2) To look good stick with bright colored button downs. White and powder blue count.
3) Instead of investing in t-shirts, go to a good shoe store and have a female salesman hook you up with good kicks. Don't be afraid to say no to her if something is too expensive or not your style, but trust me, women pay a lot more attention to men's shoes than you would think. Spend your money on shoes over t-shirts.
4) Only ever wear jeans. Dark jeans. Tight dark jeans.
5) Always wear a belt and match it to your shoes. If possible match it to your shoes and blazer if you wear one.
6) Pants, blazer, and belt are the best places to buy cheap look alikes rather than fancy designer stuff. You can get relatively cheap Levi's jeans, a super cheap belt, and a blazer at the Men's Warehouse for a lot cheaper than you would think and still look like you're decked out in designer ****.
7) Wear SOMETHING that stands out. I don't care what it is. Put on a fake piercing, wear a gaudy bracelet or necklace, or whatever, but have something that sets you apart from everyone else.
Look, I'm not going to sit here and tell you that I don't have a couple of $40 t-shirts, but they make up a TINY part of my closet. T-shirts are for sports fans and teenagers. Step your wardrobe up, and stop buying expensive **** that doesn't even match your personality. If you had black nail polish, black eyeliner, and a black fauxhawk, then you can wear that shirt. Until then, go a little more classic.
EDIT: Oh, and never be afraid to ask women for fashion advice. I walk up to women and ask them about my outfit ALL THE TIME, asking specific questions about shirt and pants combinations, belts, and shoes. They LOVE to give advice. I realize that this advice is unsolicited, and it's not directed at a single person, but I'm sick of seeing a so called "fashionista" thread covered in pictures of clothes and shoes that won't impress anyone.
EDIT2: I'm not suggesting that you should never break the rules, for example, it's the summer now, which means plaid pants are in (un)fortunately, and they go with all kinds of neon ****. That also means flip flops might be acceptable depending on where you go, and lighter jeans MIGHT be acceptable. And I also don't want to imply that EVERYONE MUST even pay some lip service to these guidelines; I find that the guys with their own style who legitimately just don't give a **** do the best. But if you aren't one of those guys, and I'm sure no one who is reading this on Soccer Gaming is, then stick to the tips. And hey, if you don't care about female attention, then don't listen to anything I say, but don't come on here and post an athletic work out t-shirt in a ******* "fashionista" thread.
EDIT3: Look at the first page of this thread. Aside from Ronnifan's ridiculous Che shirt, what is posted? LaCoste polo, flip flops (in late June), Crocs (which were HUUUUUGE in 2005), and legitimately FASHIONABLE shirts from Voltaic. This thread has lost it's way.
