I always liked Olympique de Lyon, but I don´t know almost anything about their actual situation (never seen anything significant about LFP in Brazilian media). I am looking for information about how they are in league, who are their best players currently and how strong they are in comparison with top european clubs.
By the way, I noticed that French league is not a popular theme in this forum. Is French league too behind of English, Spanish, etc.?

LFP is considered second quality league along with leagues like Holland 1st div.

Lyon is a good club and Juninho is the most important player to their success. He has been magic most of this year especially with great performances in the champions league.

LFP is actually very entertaining to watch. This year I am enjoying the matches more than EPL or La Liga even

I love the French League and it's the league I have the most interest behind England. Its quality isn't too good, but there are certainly some entertaining matches. The French League is also more open than many European leagues, one of many teams can win Le Championnat each year (not including Montpellier, who seem to give the good teams grief and lose the crappy ones..)

French league is a good place to play for a hot prospect. French clubs buy promising players, let them play and then sell them later on.

Lyon isn't very good this year, like Marseille. They lost 3-0 against Monaco last week, and they've a lot of players injured. Lyon is a "new" team which won their 2 first Championship since 3 seasons. Juninho is a very good player, and Elber is not good this year, but I think he'll play beter and better. Sidney Govou is good too, like Malouda or Luyindula.

Fot the French League, I agree with you, it's a good league with ood players: Morientes, Mido, Drogba, Giuly, Van Buyten, Heinze, Pauleta, Evra, Rothen, Prso, Pedretti, Frau... We've great matches, the defense is probably more important than the offside in French football, but players like Zidane, Henry or Vieira played in this league few years before.

I'm a supporter of Marseille, and I'm proud of this. There's often 60.000 sup' in the Stade Vélodrome, with approximately 45.000 subscriber. In Lyon, there are 40.000 fans I think.

So, French League has a good level, just after Premier League, Serie A and Liga, at the same level as Bundesliga

It's a pity that they don't have the money to keep their own players. The French League would be one of the best leagues in the world.

i like the french league. everyone talks bout the bundesliga being one of the top four, but honestly i like the french style alot better.

of course nothing compares to the spanish and italian leagues.

Marseille has just been defeated again at home by his own rival, PSG.

This is the fifth defeat in a row of Marseille against Paris SG. Just imagine Arsenal losing five games in a row against Man U, or Real losing 5 times against Barça. It's the same here

Nevertheless, despite the defeat, the OM players have shown determination, especially Didier Drogba. But the talent of the PSG leading players, Sorin, Pauleta, Ljuboja, Déhu ad Heinze was way beyond the determination of Marseille.

I can't understand why Man Utd wants so much Daniel Van Buyten : although his great first season, this year he seems transparent and useless. The other thing I can't understand is why Sorin couldn't make it in Juve, Barca or Lazio : he is TREMENDOUS.

Yes, Sorín is good, I remember him from Cruzeiro; versatile player. Didn´t know that he plays for PSG now.

I like french league. gmes are usually very open and nice to be watched.

It's pitty there is not much french football on tv, but it's possible to see great players from that league.

The problem is that although they do well in france you never know how they will do in stronguer leagues.

I was wondering, does Bernard Tapin, I think this was his name, has still any conection with OM. I know he went to prision but what happend after that? did he sold his shares?

that's Bernard Tapie.
He was back in charge in a managerial role at Marseille a few seasons ago... but couldnt reignite the form of the early 90s. But i'm not sure if he still has a role at the club or not. dunno

No, Tapie was the general manager before that Perrin came. Perrin is out, we haven't manager now.

For the match against PSG, Barthez made a great match, but the defense pityfull. Van Buyten was great last year, but now he's too proud, he think that he's already in Man Utd. Man utd could buy him against Barthez stay in Marseille.
Drogba is amazing

IMO Ligue 1 has the most entertaining games, even if you don't know all the teams or players its always a high paced, but skilled league. Fantastic stuff 2 watch
