hey i was wonder ing if YOU were able to start or change a certain type of tournament which would u change and how?

me i would make a Champions League for all the Americas..

i would call it the Champions Cup
it would include teams from North and South America:

this is how it would go:

El Che... that looks... needlessly complicated.

But I'm very much for the idea of an all-Americas Champions Cup.

I'd like to change the Gold Cup into a tournament that's once every four years (2004, 2008, 2012, etc.). Every team (except the host) must qualify, and no teams can be 'invited' from non-CONCACAF countries. It would consist of 12 teams, divided in four groups of three. The winner and runner-up in each group advances to the quarterfinals. Sample finals groups:

Group A
USA
Guatemala
El Salvador

Group B
Mexico
Trinidad and Tobago
Haiti

Group C
Costa Rica
Cuba
Barbados

Group D
Honduras
Jamaica
Canada

The qualification would see the 34 national teams divided into 11 groups: 10 groups of 3 and one group of 4 teams.The winner of each group qualifies.

i agree it is complicated but i took a page outta the Champions LEague..lol

anyway i think the Gold Cup idea is great.. it should be held in diffrent countries and all countries except the host should play in a qualification...

el che, its a great idea, but i don't think it would fly. i would rather expand copa libertadores to 36 clubs, by allowing two representatives from the united states to take part. i would also introduce a uefa-style coefficient system based on prior performance. heres how the 2003 tournament would have looked like if the americans were playing:

I wud have a 16 team 'GB' Cup. The top four teams from England, Wales, Scotland and Northan Ireland

It would consist of 4 groups of four. The champs in group 1, 2nd place in group 2 etc.....

the top team out of each group would go through. Could be a nice preseason thing.

yeah i know but think people in other countries will finally see some good football if they qualify which will make them in turn play good football..

all in all it would be a good experiance to smaller countries it will help thier football grow...

I'm a Galaxy fan and most MLS clubs here all they do is play club teams from Mexico and Central America and to tell you the truth we need to be playing against other teams..no offense to anyone

plus there are some teams who don't take our real Champions Cup serious and maybe with something like this it would bring out better competition...

but anyway its just something that would be cool to see..at least for me
