I am doing film studies at a2 level, we have to make a film about school, we decided to make it funny and office like. we are doing general stereotypes of characters in school: bully,geek,popular, sporty,

there are 6 of us and we are using a few extras for the football shots and in school shots, filmin starts on tuesday. Is anyone else doin film studies at a level and doing this?

this project is a practice film for the real thing, may post the film on the net after we're done.

a friend of mine is going to the same but not about school. he's going to do it about the group of us who go to see all these free advance movie screenings. we are a group of like 15 people plus all the other people that we know and see all the time at the movies.
He's going to do it like a documentary but with the Seinfeld/Curb your Enthusiasm style mixed with The Office's awkard pauses that we're all going to kind of act but without the rest of the people knowing meaning only a few of us are going to act or kind of have situations planned

did the same thing (except ours wasnt a comedy) at A2 level, PM me if you want any specific advice or anything.

One main tip i would give when doing it for college; make sure you dont run out of time e.g. get filming pronto and it gives you a lot of time to edit.

I found myself in the editing room for 12hrs a week over the last 2 months cos we didnt plan it well, hence get the screenplay sorted and get filming SOON because you'll reap the benefits in the end.

I've made two 'movies' with friends for class. The first one was a parody of the Sopranos, and the second one was a parody of the Fast and the Furious with some Kill Bill. I loved making them, and they were pretty well received. I was gonna pursue a career in film production, but i gave it up for business to be more practical

I did all the editing and filming as used the imovie program on Mac computers.

I'm studying Film and TV at RMIT University in Melbourne.

We are currently in pre-prod. for our final project. Hopefully mine will turn out alright.

I just had 50 actors come in for auditions last Friday, it went really well, everyone had a great day, I am now in the process of contacting the actors, then I will start my schedualing and storyboarding of my script.

got my costume ready for 2mo, im bein the geek ( i nominated myself!), i have got all the good scenes and lines, pretty nervous and stuff, i hope i come off funny.

You sound like a big shot with all those 50 additions So what is your movie gonna be all about....... and do you really gonna pay all those actors money, or they will work just for heck of it

well we have finished most of the film, we just have to shoot the ending shot and we're done. We shud include some extras as well, def gonna post it

its really not going to be anything good, this is the first time we have done anything like this, we didnt even know how to work the camera at first so dont expect anything spielberg like

x4dixont, so you not gonna screen your film in any movie theater?!! I am disapointed, cause i already started to gather money for the ticket

Alex - I wont be paying the actors, they are looking for experience and I am providing it.

I am possibly going to be organising a feature film to be shot later this year which may inlcude paid actors, but I am unsure at this point in time.

My film is a black comedy about a bunch of criminals who kidnap film crew members.

Should be no longer than 7 minutes when it's completed.

Off topic, but I actually had a dream a few days ago that we were making a movie in school. All the students had an Actor Draft (we choose different actors for our movie) and I chose Michael Madsen!
