sacking him now would not give us anything. we would probably be stuck with phil neville or stever round for the rest of the season. neither of those are tactical geniuses, we won't find a replacement straight away, leaving us risking the europa spot that we need for financial reasons.
the best, solution in my eyes would be giving moyes this season and getting someone established, like hiddink, as a manager for a few years. he could stabilize the team as he has more authority than moyes will ever have. we might even have a chance to compete for the title under him, although i don't really rate him too highly. while under the interim in charge, we would have a year or two to find a long-term replacement for fergie. currently, i can't see anyone who could fill that position on the market. in two years that might change.
also, we have to remember that both moves - sacking moyes and signing someone world class - would mean huge financial outgoings. this might hurt as well. we need to rebuild the squad and sign players, it's not only moyes, it's the players as well who don't deserve to wear the badge.
more realstic approach, that i can sadly see us doing, is giving moyes a season or two, hoping things would get better. as i can't see him improving enough, to see results we'd expect from united, we'll probably end up sacking him during 2015/2016, trying to find some long-term replacement then. by that time we've become the liverpool of the 2010's.
