Juan Veron says that he wants to stay at United, despite rumours of an £14 million approach for the midfielder from Chelsea.
The Argentine started Tuesday's friendly match against Celtic on the bench, only being introduced in the second half of the 4-0 win. But the former Lazio man says that he has no plans to leave the Old Trafford for pastures new.
"It has never been my intention to leave Manchester United," Seba insisted on Thursday.
"I want to stay and I have made my intentions clear. But I do not know what the club want to do."
Sir Alex admitted that United had received an approach from an unnamed club for Veron, but nothing official has happened since. The UK tabloids are refusing to let the story die, however - with some claiming that he will be a Chelsea player by this weekend.
Joaquin keen after all?
Real Betis winger Joaquin's agent says that his client may be willing to join Manchester United, just two weeks after claiming that he was happy at his current club.
The young Spanish international was rumoured to have been the subject of a Diego Forlan-plus-cash deal from the Premiership champions, and while he denies an official offer has been made, Gonzalo Arguiqano admits Joaquin would consider one.
"No offers have been made to Betis that I am aware of," said Arguiqano.
"If Manchester were to get in contact with the club, then Joaquin would be open to listen to any offer made.
"However, until that time, he is very happy to be at the club. Manchester is a good team, and if they made an offer, Joaquin would listen to it."
The 21-year-old star had hoped to sign a new, improved deal with the Primera Liga club, but since that declaration talks have gone no further.
"No new contract has been signed with the club and they are not in negotiations to renew his present deal," Arguiqano continued.
"Joaquin has not had any contact with (Betis president) Lopera in regards to a new deal."
