Manager Mode - Suggest A Player

Hey guys.

This is a thread where you can make a request such as:

Team: CSKA Moscow
Position: R/LM
Why?: I'm not happy with the performances of Tosic and Gonzalez.
Info: Preferably someone fast, and tricky. Not over the age of 24.
Realistic: Yes

And you guys give me suggestions for a player that fits the criteria. Obviously, the "team" is the team you are playing with and need a player for.

So have you guys got any suggestions for that request?

Position : ST, RB/LB
Why? : Pizarro will retire in 9 months and I use Almeida/Arnautovic as Supporting Strikers. None of my RBs or LBs are good enough, even though I bought Traore
Info : Striker with excellent shooting, dribbling and speed don't need to be THAT good. Preferably very fast full back(Lahm, Dani Alves like full back). Striker under 27 years of age and R/LB under 25 if possible.

I'm low on cash so preferably I'll need young and cheap players.

For ST: try eren derdiyok, robert lewandowski, carlos vela, franco di santo, jozy altidore, stefano okaka etc
For RB: try gonzalo castro, andreas beck, rafinha, gregory van der wiel, gary bocaly etc

Striker: Vagner Love from CSKA Moskva has been great in my MM! He fits the requirements perfectly.

Defender: I'm not sure what he's rated in FIFA 11, but in 10 Diekmeier was quite good and very young. At least check him out.

Tad off topic, but would someone be able to check the growth curves of Barragan (RB, Real Vallodolid) and Canella (LB, Sporting Gijon), because i haven't received my game in the post yet and I think i might sign them for my Real Madrid MM (i'll need two good back up fullbacks for Lass and Marcelo). They also might be handy for you aswell, Powerslave.

Well I'm going to play him at rb cause he is one of my favourite players and he loses only 1ovr point. Lass has filled in at various times at rb for madrid and on fifa 11 his preffered positions are cdm/cm/rb and sergio ramos gains 3 ovr points playing at cb, perhaps check your facts?

I bought Hatem Ben Arfa.

But if you want an allrounder at RM you must buy Valon Behrami just look at his defensive abilitys.
He is young very tricky(5*I think) and fast.I'm very pleased with him.

It's not because a player gains points on rb on FIFA, that he's able to play on that position. Every CDM will gain (or not loose) points on a back position. Does that mean Gattuso or Macherano can play leftback? Don't think so. And I've never seen Lass at rightback...

Well maybe you don't watch Lass play much, but he has appeared there for Real Madrid and France (not in the biggest matches) and has done alrite. He was kept in the Real madrid Squad by Jose Mourinho because of his capacity to play at right back (due to his attributes of speed, agility, tackling, passing etc).

I'm going to play him at right back in my manager mode because I like him as a player, but his overall is not goof compared to the other cms (xabi, khedira in the starting XI, and rb suits him because he basically maintains his overall, and sergio ramos gains overallwhen played at centre back, and when Xabi gets too old i'll move Lass to cm alongside khedira and bring my 2nd rb (probably will be barragan) into the starting XI. Kinda makes sense?

Gattuso nor Mascherano could play left-back as good as left back because they are both not speedy nor agile. But you point is right to an extent, it depends on the attributes of a player and the system of the team.

But if you do want to question someone's facts, next time have some valid facts yourself before questioning them, because in the end you should've checked your facts before making that post.

You still haven't convinced me. Real Madrid should play an attacking style of football, with backs seeking depth. I can't see Lass dribbling a man and donating a good cross. Ramos is able to do that. (I even consider Ramos too attacking for right back, nevermind centre back.)

Lass is a nice player, but in my opinion you just have to choose between him and Khedira. When you play both of them at centre midfield, you'll lose too much footballing ability. Xabi controls the game trough is excellent passing, and I don't think either Lass or Khedira are able to do that.

Basic thought: Lass is good at steeling balls from the opposition, but he lacks in attacking ability's.

Don't forget, this is a video game, the Lass' stats reflect that he can do the job there, and in the madrid system, only one fullback is ever up at one time, and more than likely it is on the left flank (with marcelo) where the fullback advances, considering that madrid run most of their attacks through ronaldo, who mostly plays on the left of the field.

And in Manager Mode, Lass will grow according to the positon he plays in, so he'll fit the bill until barragan passes his overall. Or do you reckon I Should keep arbeloa (he's 27 and getting on)?

Khedira is an adequate passer for the way I play, basically i get the ball in defence, move it wide to the fullback, and get the ball forward to the winger to start the attack at speed, works for me.

Yeah i'm intending on keeping some realism (transfers in particular), whilst keeping my own spin on the team. (ie Starting with lass where possible.

Nah it's cool man, I am of Belgian descent, hence why i raved about lukaku, and people always ask me if im french, italian, spanish, portuguese or brazilian in person. With the various sports played downunder it is hard to find good people to talk football with, hence why i like this forum.
