Van Gaal has proven time and time again that he can only work with young not really well known players and mold them over a long period of time. Players that don't know anything about professional football yet, but are talented and eager to learn. The moment he is faced with arrived world star-caliber players and their ego's, he's always in trouble. Mostly because he has such a big ego himself.

Congrats to PSV, btw. Quite an achievement to top Man Utd to qualify for the next round, especially seeing the difference in financial budget.

True, true. Chicharito out was the right move not for ManU but for Javier. He couldn't spend his entire career being a bench player for top clubs.

Extremely limited? No.

He just scores. Yes, all he ever does is score. (H)!!!

we are in pretty shit shape for tomorrow. We have 9 injured players and we do not have any single experienced defender in each defensive positions. It will be hard to not concede. I would favor 5-3-2 in that one.

I'd rather see Young and Lingard than Bortnick-Carlos*son and Varela.

Bortnick Carlos*son, Mcnair, Varela, Blind defense. We are fucked. Jones on the bench though. Bournemouth won against Chelsea last week.

Seriously though, it looks like most of the players don't even care. Fellaini (who van Gaal decided to sub off during a set piece of all times) and Memphis were the only ones who consistently showed any "fire" today. I know it's en vogue to say "professionals shouldn't need motivation", but it certainly doesn't hurt does it?

I agree. There was no fight, no determination. Fellaini, the biggest threat of the game (sadly) was subbed off for Powell who barely touched the ball the whole game. Bortnick-Carlos*son is shit and lazy, just standing and letting players go past him. Why did he play and not Young? The hectic December period won't be pretty. At least Phil Jones will be back next week, Smalling also soon.

What he is doing in Bundesliga he would never have been doing in the EPL because he is an extremely limited player.

He can score goals in the Premier League.

The larger point I think you're trying to make, I happen to agree with. Leverkusen are having one of their worst seasons in quite awhile as Chicharito scores goals. Just like Bayern were worse with Gomez.

Chicharito is a weird player, i've never seen anyone achieving so much with so little... Maybe Gattuso.
