"It is hard to digest something like that,'' Ferguson said. "It was a top performance. In one way you could say we have thrown it away; in another you could argue we were very unlucky.''

Or in a more accurate/respectful way, you could say you were beaten. Between these comments and the "typical Germans" jab, I think SAF has shown himself to be the sore loser that he is.

Funny thing about the "typical germans " is, it was Ribery, who was arguing with the Ref...and believe or not... hes french. (Y)

Damn!!!! I was rooting for a memorable rematch of last year.

Well I agree that after watching the first half of this match the 2 legs were alot more even than I imagined, congrats to you guys for 40 minutes of great futbol. Although credit to Bayern who have an unbelievable fighting spirit, either of you would have made great semi-finalist.

I sort of sympathize with Fergie, not to excuse his comments, but a defeat like this is hard to take. Especially considering they should have been in total control after the 3-0. Some of those comments might have been a little frustration on his own players.

I think its time to get a class CM who can control the tempo of the game and have the experience to see you through a 3-0 by controlling the ball and holding it when needed. I still can't believe Fergie didn't make Sneijder part of the Cristiano sale, he cost inter 15m and look his impact on their team.

Bad news on Rooney, I really admire his fighting spirit. Hope he is well and can guide you guys into a perfect 5 out of 5 run. With a little luck chelsea will drop a game and you can end up with the title.

I respect you guys and hope you have a great end to a season of hard work. Hope to see you next year. Heads up Mates(Y)

This, together with posts from Xifio and Maestro, are good comments which we as losers can work with.....but I guess especially you Real supporters understand us when the world comes down on us after every tiny upset, as we are the two biggest clubs in the world right now.......

This isn't the end of the world, the CL is being played every season, sometimes you are succesfull and sometimes you're not. Let Bayern have their moment of joy....they are clearly reacting this way because they know that we have been the better side over both legs and they are only through pure on their fighting spirit and luck at the important moments in the game, footballing wise they didn't impress me at all......

I can't wait for next season already....with Macheda, Nani, Anderson, Diouf, Obertan etc all maturing a bit more, Smalling and a few others joining us, and a little bit of luck on the injury front I can see us having a good season....considering everything we have had to endure this season, we managed to survive and still be in it at this time of the season. The league isn't over yet and with only that as the final piece of silverware we can fully focus on it

Exactly, its not so much that we got knocked out by Bayern that is hard to take but how we got knocked out. We got a cheap goal from Rooney but both Olic's goals were cheap.

Someone said Bayern dominated for 3/4. If that were true its not suprising as Bayern spend most of the tie (atleast 90%) chasing the game so most of that time we relaxed a bit. Then the red card came.

Anyway congrats Bayern. I was impressed with Olic in first leg especially first half.

As for our players, Nani was excellent he is starting to come along now. Rafael kept Ribery in his pocket in first half, defensively i think that the best we have seen from him so far.

This is the sort of thing which Fergie does that, at times, makes it embarassing to support the club. Even Wenger had more grace in defeat, it was a shocking comment to make, when all teams crowd the ref. It was a special goal to win the game and all you can do is admire it rather than be bitter. Obviously like all United fans I respect Fergie, but he makes it difficult. Its embarassing because when I tell people I support the club then they assume I agree with all the stuff Fergie spouts out, which more often than not I don't agree with.

I didn't actually think the performance was too bad, Nani really stepped up and looked great. No arguments with the sending off, both challenges were daft.

I think what can learn from this is that we really need another top striker. Rooney is great but can't be expected to basically carry the side in the way he has, Owen is injury prone, Berbatov isn't prolific enough and Welbeck and Macheda are still boys, as is Diouf. I knew when Berbatov came on nothing would change, people on the TV were making comparisons with 99 but back then we had Solskjaer coming on, who throughout his career always looked like getting a goal when he played. I don't mind if it isn't Villa, but it needs to be someone aged between 24 and 29 ideally who knows where the goal is.

Overall not happy with Fergie right now because of those comments but also risking Rooney like that. He clearly wasn't ready. I don't care if he said he was ready, because he shouldn't have been out there.

Fergie uses these comments to deflect attention away from analysis of United's performance. I agree that sometimes a lot of the hatred directed United's way is down to him.

We played really well last night, Nani was excellent - but once Bayern got the man advantage their attitude changed and they became more dangerous. I do however feel that this close season, a lot of questions need to be addressed, because without Rooney it appears we have no thrust or creativity.

As for transfer targets, I again would suggest Benzema, Suarez or someone like that. Also I really hope we can get Joe Cole on a free.

You can say "poor refereeing", "fluke goals", "injuries" anything you like, but simply in the cold light of day, United are not good enough.

Benzema? I don't want a Madrid flop. He's good, but not worth the price tag. Suarez would be great IMO. He's very prolific. I also admire Dzeko a lot. As for Berbatov, I like him a lot as well. He is very skillful and technical but he can't play in high tempo games like yesterday. Simply put, he doesn't fit in our tactics. But I'm sure Fergie will still stick with him.

hhmm lots of videos on youtube.

*edit*

Apparently the most scouted player of last year.

http://www.imscouting.com/players/javier-hernandez/

decent vid here. Looks like he played vs everton at some point and put a number of goals past them. Pre season? Europa?

Scored 21 in 28 in League, 4 in 4 for Mexico. Perhaps he will get loaned out for a season to see how he does, he looks quite small.

*edit* found a thread about him. http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1300192 60 odd pages long from Chivas supporters

I just read that. He's a striker and plays for Mexico. He scored 4 goals in 4 games for them. All friendlies though. He scored 10 in 10 for Chivas this season. He seems very prolific for his age...

Some of his goals for Mexico:

I'm excited by his signature. Considering he's only 1.73m and 62 Kg, I hope he's not the new Giuseppe Rossi. He's as tall as Owen.

That's not "our" Everton, so I reckon it's probably a CONCACAF tournament or something.

Looks like he knows where the goal is, I hope he can translate that to the English game. Seems to me Sir Alex has United's longterm future in mind with the signings so far, with Javier and Chris Smalling so far, I still reckon we're gonna be busy in the summer.

Soccernet says 10 goals in 11 games for league. 15 in 24 last season. Yes 4 in 4 for Mexico.

Good to get him before the World Cup i guess

Would be great to see him play in the WC. Yeah I'm sure his price would tripple after the WC provided he impressed.

Yes, he reminds me of a young Owen a lot. Lets hope he makes it in the EPL. The thing worrying me is his height.

ahh thats why, good old espn lol. Bloody useless. Its 21 this season in 24 games.

http://www.imscouting.com/ gives very accurate information especially there premium area. Very good site, its actually used by a lot of Football agents on the lookout for the next big thing. "Global scouting company for football professionals"

http://www.imscouting.com/players/javier-hernandez/ You can cross reference that information with other sites, seems to be the most up to date.

Yeah maybe the ESPN website has not been updated since months LOL. I never knew imscouting was a good website. I never paid attention to it before. I might consider using it more.

Btw, anyone seen Tosic's 2 goals against Hannover? I never knew Koln had Maniche, Petit or Podolski :| Good to see Tosic play alongside them.

Both goals are ******* awesome.

Well I just hope his permit comes through okay, we've had trouble with the Home Office before.

Good goals by Zoran, he looks like he's a good deal stronger now. I always felt he was too lightweight and easily knocked off the ball.

yeah its a good site, only problem with them is they don't tend to pay attention to players unless there playing for the first team.

Cracking goal by tosic, hope hes gets a chance to play more for united.
