Today was a VERY unconvincing 2-0 win. We dominated possession but were sloppy in the final third. At least both goals were very well constructed though.

But our finishing today was terrible. Chicharito was gifted a second goal on 87 minutes and he somehow managed to screw it up. Rooney was gifted one as well around 90 minutes if I recall and he flubbed it.

I didn't watch the game but it does sound a disappointing overall performance from what I have read. Defense was shaky and we missed a lot of easy chances. But good result though. I'd rather win 2-0 against 9 men-Wigan than lose 3-0 to Sunderland :)

I was really impressed by Obertan though, he works hard and is capable of some explosive movements. I look forward to him hopefully getting more playing time and developing even further.
If he can overcome his nervousness, he can be a great player. The big barrier for him is his mental issues.

I also have good words for Rafael, he really seems to be coming into his own at RB. He still makes the occasional guffaw here and there defensively, but he's quick, surprisingly physical for being so tiny, has tons of energy, and he is good at getting forward and can supply some great crosses into the box. I'm starting to be convinced that he is going to be a good long-term player at RB for us.

I told you he's gonna flourish :) He just needed time. He's improved a LOT. Remember the silly mistakes that he used to make? The red cards that he foolishly received and penalties he's conceded. He'll become better than Evra IMO and should get the #2 shirt once G. Nev retires.

As I told you before, he has the potential to become much better than Glen Johnson. He's still 21 isn't he.

Btw I heard Rooney was cheered by the crowd when he came on. I am surprised. I was expecting more boos than cheers. I'm glad that he got a good reception from OT.

How did the Chicharito-Rooney partnership combine? Its the first time they played together since Chichi came

Rooney didn't do much, just strutted around trying to get a touch on the ball. Hernandez was all over Wigan running circles around their defense though.

Now is the time to seize the amazing chance that we have got thanks to Chelsea's mistakes. United could get a grip of the first place and keep it. And Sir Alex Ferguson has promised Rooney that he will play the entire match against Rangers. Let's see how he fares after being away for so long and with all the commotion around him.

whats the hells going on... were playing like crap but at the top of the league. Can only be a good thing I guess because if we can get to the top playing like crap what happens when the team starts to gel especially considering after Christmas is when you usually see united at there best...

interesting that we still haven't lost a game.

Haha indeed, a bit weird, it even hurts more thinking about losing those points at Fulham and Everton

haha for those who were writing off united..

I expected us to be thereabouts...the fixture generator was freakin kind to chelsea and now you can see why they are not as "rampant" and "unstoppable" as the media was making them out to be.

Anyway...carrick and fletch need a kick up their arses. Sloppy performance. Scholes did more in 10 mins then fletch and carrick combined.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here. Chelsea's recent meltdown is very easily fixable, where's our form is worrying for almost half a season now. The fact that we managed to be tied on points at the top right now is amazing, but realistically our squad is still no match to Chelsea's over 38 games. Maybe if Rooney rediscovers his last year's form and Valencia manages to get back ahead of schedule fully fit and ready to go.

good performance and a sweet win. Fabio was impressive. If he can play like that consistently..we can stop relying too much on evra.

Great performance but poor finishing. We could've won 5-0. But very satisfying overall performance.

Fabio and Evans were great, so was Obertan when he came on.

Berbatov was frustrating with his finishing as he has been in the last couple of weeks. He made some smart passes from time to time though.

Ruud van Nistelrooy... What a f*cking striker. This is a great compilation of his best goals I came across. Thought it'd be nice to share.

A true goal machine indeed, scored some great goals for us. Funny to see that he was part of two generations, first with Becks, Ole, Keane, Veron etc and then with Ronaldo, Rooney etc...

Don't know anything about him...sounds like we only paid just over 3 million, so if he winds up being good he will have been a great investment.

Hi!

I wouldn't worry about Lindegaard only having 4 caps for Denmark, even if he is 26. Still rather young for a keeper and you got to remember that number one for Denmark after Schmeichel retired has been Sörensen. Now that he's pretty much done, I think Lindegaard will become the first pick ahead of Christiansen (old and not as impressive) and Kasper Schmeichel (not exactly living up the the hype he got some years ago).

I'm excited to see him at United, call it wishful thinking but it brings back some memories fromt he time another danish goalie played for United :P

Brilliant 2nd goal. That was us at our best! Rooney certainly does make a difference. Adds the creatively that we hugely lack in midfield.

We're definitely looking the business so far in this game...albeit against a lowly opponent.

I'd like to see Chicharito come on with Berbs and Rooney just to experiment. Play like a 4-3-1-2

*EDIT* What a fantastic buildup and goal for Berba's 3rd. That is total class.
