The Red Devil
Ruud picked up a calf injury and had to come off in the 70 or so minute. Giggs felt a twinge in his hamstring on Monday. Gary Neville, Phil Neville and Rooney have that flu virus but it can't too bad since Gary Neville and Rooney can play with it.

The Return Of The Neville Diary

Wednesday November 24 2004

Guess who's back? Read the Neviller's views on events in Spain ('disgusting and vile') and find out just what he's making Sir for Christmas. Lucky Sir...

Wednesday
I have never, ever seen anything so disgusting and vile at a football match and FIFA and UEFA and BHS need to take action against nasty people and I shall be writing to Sepp Blatter to get those dirty Spanish banned from playing ever, ever again. I tried to get Rio to walk off with me in protest but he seemed annoyed about something else.

How dare that smelly Arse-nal (ha ha!) player Jose Reyes think that he can kick Gary Neville? What has happened to the Beautiful Game?

Apart from that outrage I thought all the players from the greatest club in the whole wide world ever were brilliant but were let down by everyone else. Except for David, who is always brilliant and said 'hello' to me. I won't wash my ears for a week.

My players of the match were me (brilliant), David (brilliant and my friend :-)), Rio (brilliant), Wayne (brilliant and picked on) and Alan (brilliant and cute).

Worst players were Arse-nal (ha ha!) player Ashley Cole and City (who?) player and wannabe David, Shaun Wright-Phillips. No wonder they were booed.

Thursday
Started knitting Sir's Xmas present on the way home from Spain. I noticed last week he didn't have a cover for his whiskey bottle. I wonder what he will get me. Maybe he'll make me captain. Or coach. Merry Xmas Gary, he'll say, you're my main man.

Saw Mum and she said my moustache looked very bushy on the TV last night. And I only had to give her one Chinese burn. She said there were monkey chants - which must have been because of my hairy face.

Friday
Sir will be 1000 soon - I wish I'd played all 1000 games with him. I start crying when I think of the 543 games he has played without me. I think it must upset Sir too and we shall celebrate our 500th game together next season. They will probably make a programme on the TV and I shall get an OBE and meet the Queen, who will be very impressed with my moustache. I shall take Mum.

I have a bit of a sniffle. I'll stay at Mum's tonight and she can sing me to sleep. She knows all the words to 'Come On You Reds'.

Saturday
Sir rested me. Which means that he must think that I am one of the best players at the greatest club in the whole wide world ever because you only ever rest your stars. "Gary, you have a break," he said. He actually called me by my name!!

So Weasley (ha!) Brown played and he was embarrassingly bad - I don't think Sir will be doing that again in a hurry. He was so bad that even Silly Billy Philly came off the bench to play and I laughed all the way through. It was a miracle that we didn't lose without me. I think Sir will have learned a valuable lesson. It just shows - 999 games and you can still make mistakes.

Sunday
I miss David today. I bought all the newspapers with his picture, cut them all out and made a collage with cow glue. Mum says I can't use real glue. Boo! David won't tell me his address and neither would Brooklyn when I talked to him last week (brat!) so I'll just send it to David Beckham, Real Madrid, Madrid, Spain, Europe, The World, The Universe, The Galaxy. I don't know the postcode.

Monday
Still don't feel well - but there's no way I'm telling Sir because I'm not missing his birthday game. I hope there are candles and Pass the Parcel. I always win at Pass the Parcel.

Put the cones out for Sir today and told him that Weasley Brown said that the best manager in the Premiership was Arse-ne Whinger. He won't play tomorrow. He will probably be sold along with Silly Billy Philly. Then I will be the only player in the very important position of right full-back for the best team in the whole wide world ever.

Tuesday
'And crowd favourite Gary 'Gazza' Neville goes on a typically surging run, exchanges passes with Ronaldo, feeds the cute Alan Smith on the right and then powers into the box to blast the ball home. It's the goal of the season! The Old Trafford crowd erupts in adoration of their favourite son. This man is a God - truly a God...'

I did it for Sir. I had snot in my moustache and I felt queasy but I did it for Sir. And dear diary, you should have seen my celebration - I looked like a proud and noble king. Ooooh Gary Neville...

United Keeping Tabs on Vanden Borre

Manchester United are reportedly keeping a close eye on Anderlecht's teenage sensation Anthony Vanden Borre, who has been touted as the biggest young prospects in Belgium.

The versatile midfielder and defender, just a tender 17 years of age, has been handed major responsibilities over the past few months, winning his first senior cap for his country and representing his current club, Anderlecht, in the Champions League.

Youngster Vanden Borre has also made appearances for his national side at U16 and U21 level.

United scouts are reportedly in Belgium tonight to watch Vanden Borre play against Claudio Ranieri's Valencia side in their Champions League Group G clash.

Borre, normally a centre-half, can slot in at right-back as well as central midfield and on the right hand side of midfield.

I am excited :p he is one of the biggest prospects in Europe, and a hero in the CM/FM games.

Some German reports say that Owen Hargreaves is on his way to Man United during the winter break. Bayern would let him go for €20M (no bullsh*t).

Just saw it on sky. WellI have never seen enough of him to comment, and he's always played out of position for england. But the things i've heard is that he is crucial to bayern, and if he's good enough for them, he can do a job for us.

I like him as much as Vince :)

I think if Manchester United wanna be the top club they say they are, they should be getting world class players. Not people like Hargreaves. United should be trying to get players like Joaquin, Vicente etc, players like that. I know they don't play in the same position but I don't think he's a Manchester United player.

How big is YOUR penis?
Hargreaves owned Figo some years ago during an ECL clash. He was only 17 and Figo was a nominee for FIFA World Player of The Year award . . . Nuff said, the kid got quality.

All im saying and Vince and other people probably agree with me is that yeah, he isnt a bad player. But I think Manchester United should be aiming higher. People like Djemba, Kleberson, BELLION etc arent really Manchester United players. United are seen as one of if not the biggest club in the world. I think if your of that calibur, then you should have the best players in the world.

Like Ronaldinho, Joaquin, Aimar, Totti, Cannavaro. Im not saying those players exactly, of course some of them have just signed for new clubs, cant leave, or will never leave. But im saying top notch players who're regarded as the best in the world. I think they're the type of players United should be aiming to get. Not Solari etc, bigger players, and Hargreaves isnt a big game player.
