Manchester United Phil Neville has insisted he is not considering the prospect of walking out on Manchester United.
The England international has slipped down the pecking order at Old Trafford this term, with the versatile star a fleeting visitor to the Red Devils first team.
Sir Alex Ferguson has never lost faith in Neville and rewarded his commitment with a new contract at the start of the season, but the Scot did admit recently that he could see the 27-year-old turning his back on the club in search of regular football.
Neville was handed a start and the captain's armband against Arsenal in the Carling Cup on Wednesday and produced a solid display in the 1-0 win.
The versatile star admitted after the game that he is frustrated by his dearth of opportunities, but says he is not contemplating moving on.
"I am happy," Neville told Sky Sports. "I do want to play more games and I am frustrated, but it is still the club I want to play for at the moment and the way I see it, the bigger challenge for me is to stay and fight for my place.
"I see it as the easy way out to go and play football elsewhere. Captaining this side has made me a proud man and I would like to continue playing for this club.
"I have a new five-year contract, the boss tells me he still wants me and that is the most important person I should listen to.
"There are some great players and it is a great team and over the years I have contributed and the boss has made sure I have contributed, even though I have not played week in, week out.
"This year has been a little bit different. I have probably not played the amount of games I have done in the past, but he assures me I will make a contribution and as long as I feel I am making a contribution and still feel as if I am good enough to play for this team, I will stay and fight for my place."
