I've been a United fan since I was a toddler, so I'm sticking with the team through thick or thin.

Me too, I don't want people to mistake what I said for me walking away from United. I only meant that if United were ever to collapse (God forbid) I would be done with football, and if it came as an act of ripping all United's assets away - then I could not bear to see it happen.

I was so fired up on Thursday that my opinions came direct from my passion for the club, my club, our club - It's still our Manchester United, it's still the Busby Babes', the Robsons', Kanchelskis', the Schmeichels' the Cantonas' and even the Beckhams' Manchester United - it's still the Red Devils, the red white and black. It's still the Flowers of Munich, the European Cups of 68 and 99, the Titles, the doubles and Trebles and our successes and faliures and no matter how many cosmetic changes anyone makes, it still always will be!

And no matter whether it's the Nike Arena, the Vodafone Stadium or Old Trafford - it's still and will forever be our "Theatre of Dreams"

And you know how I believe this, because those memories (and traditions) are burned in mine and your minds for all eternity - and not even Malcolm Glazer can own them!

Anyway, we have an FA Cup Final to talk about, so who's gonna be your starting Eleven?

Mine.

GK: Howard
RB: G Neville
CB: Rio
CB: Brown
LB: Heinze (if fit) (Silvestre)
RW: Ronaldo
CMF: Keano (C)
CMF: Scholes
LW: Giggs
FW: Rooney
FW: Van Nistelrooy

I know Fletcher has been playing well recently, but I would much prefer the direct running of Cristiano Ronaldo - I would see Fletcher as more of a central Mid anyway (and would you sacrifice Scholes or Keane?)

Update on Glazer : Official statement of intent (The Shareholder contract effectively, with aims for the business) will be released by Glazer on Wednesday.

Heinze definately not playing according to manutd.com

also, in the FA cup final i would also actually be extremely tempted to want Phil Neville to play - look at when he played in the last matches against arsenal - he was absolutely superb at intercepting all the through balls coming through. Although with Henry out it may not be so much of a problem. But if Henry was to play i'd really want Phil to play.

i'm sick to death on hearing about how Glazer can fu'ck off etc. Even though i also did not want Glazer to take control, the fact is that he has and boycotting matches will do absolutely nothing at all because there are SO MANY man utd fans that there is always going to be enough fans that are going to want to take advantage of the whole situation and go and watch their favourite team play.

To be honest, i'm not sure whether Glazer is going to be as bad as we have all expected - i think that for the moment he will take a back seat. But also, if he wants to make money himself, then that means that the club will also make money - this guy ain't stupid - even though he is "purely a businessman wanting money", i think that Manchester United can gain out of it in the long run with the expertise of him and his sons set out to make more and more money, not only for themselves, but also for the club.

But hey, lets just wait to hear what he's got to say on Wednesday.

Steve and Paddy on MUTV said Sir Alex was giving Gaby Heinze till Wednesday before he makes a final final decision
(he has to be running by then)

As for your point on Phill, yes he did an excellent job against Vieira, but would you play him over Scholes or Keano? I would most certainly have Phill in the Final Squad.

I don't think we can afford not to have two out and out wingers on the pitch, we need to be able to break quickly when the opportunity arises, it's good news about Henry being missing though. Arsenal seem to be a different side without him.

drop Ruud. Rooney up front on his own. Phil and Keano in central midfield. Giving Scholes the freedom to do whatever the fu'ck he wants :)

Drop Ruud, ah, NO CHANCE! he's 100% fit now, and he'll be ready to pounce, especially on Arsenal's brittle defence (we hope). And let's hope unfit Campbell starts, Ronaldo and Rooney and Giggs can take advantage of his lack of pace.

It'd be a brave man to drop Ruud!!

I think now he's looking sharp, Ruud has to play - if only just for the fear factor. I see your point about giving Scholes the freedom to roam, but I guess if I had to integrate Phil then I'd drop Scholesy to the bench. I think that Rooney is ideal in the "Cantona" role behind Ruud. So just for the simple reason that Scholesy cannot tackle :) and Phil can own Vieira, it would be the Ginger Prince that I would take out. (Although you can't take a move like this lightly!)

I think this would be pretty decent...

Howard

Gaz, Rio, Brown, Heinze/Silvestre

Ronaldo, Keano, Phil, Giggs

Scholes

Rooney

Then again, this would'nt be bad either:

Howard

Gaz, Rio, Brown, Heinze/Silvestre

Ronaldo, Keano, Phil/Scholes, Giggs

Rooney, Ruud

Neither of those teams looks too bad does it! :rockman: (How the hell did we finish 20 pts behind Chelski :kader: )

I just think that Arsenal would be boosted if they saw a teamsheet without Van Nistelrooy on it (Just like we are with Henry missing)

Ronaldo, Giggs is the best flank combination you can have at United. Can't wait for them to win the FA cup again.

thats exactly what i was thinking. (Y)

Scholes is far more important to united at the moment than Ruud. Rooney is playing well and Ruud doesn't look as sharp at the moment. Although he would be a fab sub.

Y'know the strange thing is, even with our recent form - I'm still feeling really confident about the Cup Final. I guess it's because I feel that against Arsenal, you know United will turn it on (and we seem to know exactly how to play against them) whereas I got the feeling against "lesser teams" the tempo and pace maybe wasn't as it should be. Out of the top four, only Everton and Chelsea beat us, most of the points dropped were against the sides we used to go through convincingly (and really ought to be)

I hope Arsenal sign Todd Sauerbrun just to take the piss.

(Sauerbrun is famous for a war of words with your sister team)
