Fair play to Chelsea, they are worthy champions. But something pissed me off tonight and it wasn't the defeat, it was the players and Ferguson's tactics. First of all, the players just didn't give a toss apart from maybe Rooney and Ronaldo seemed to give a toss and Ruud was isolated for most of the match because of Ferguson and Quieroz's boring 4-5-1 tactical farce. According to Ferguson before the match on Sky Sports he said Giggs was not injured, however, he was not included because "Saha needed time", oh what aload of crap Fergie, I wonder what goes on in the man's head at times, I really do.
Now, onto the tactics - 4-5-1 is a cancer and it is killing us. What was wrong with 4-4-2? this club built its history on 4-4-2, using the wings, and today we had no widph whatsoever, stop playing Rooney on the left and play him with Ruud ffs. Most managers in the world would dream to have Rooney and Ruud in the same team, yet Ferguson is wasting our best player - yes, our best player - on the left in big games, whilst he should be played as a striker, jesus ******* christ just play him as a striker, its not rocket science.

Great post here, if only Gill could grow a set of balls and tell Ferguson to play 4-4-2 or else. No one is bigger than this club. As much as I love Roy Keane, I hope he retires at the end of the season, he is one of the reasons why we play this disgraceful 4-5-1 system (Fergie said we use it to accomodate him) and it has pissed off many players (according to very good sources), not only that, but it didn't even work at all tonight, Keane got shat on by Makelele whereas the Keane of 6 years ago would've destroyed this Chelsea midfield on his own. Maybe if Keane went to Celtic or retired we could then go back to playing the entertaining football that Manchester United are (or once was) famous for, 4-4-2. It could be worse (i.e 1980's), so i'll be happy with 3rd/4th next season if things don't change this summer.
But if this disgraceful 4-5-1 farce continues and Ferguson no longer has the marbles to wield the axe on certain players like he did in the late 80's (Whiteside, Paul McGrath) and in the mid 90's (Robbo, Ince, Kanchelskis, Sharpe, Hughes) then perhaps it is time to go, and if he does decide to call it a day he can take that wanker Carlos Quieroz with him. And no, this is not a knee-jerk reaction. All great things come to an end and I will never forget Ferguson for what he has done to this club, turning it from being a club about to be flogged for £20m and transforming it into a club worth almost £1bn. But the writing has been on the wall for years and Fergie has taken this club backwards since 2001, wasting millions of the SUPPORTERS HARD-EARNED MONEY on agent fee's, players and huge wages that many of the players do not deserve right now. And now ST prices are going up next season, because of Ferguson taking this club backwards. I have a feeling next season will be make-or-break for Fergie.
Have a look at these posts, they point out many of the things wrong with the team and the club.

My only hopes for next season is that we can go back to 4-4-2 (won't happen if Keane is still here) and that Rossi, Jones, N'Galula, Pique all make the step up next season and make a big impact at the club. But then again, the last time someone was given the chance and really looked like a Manchester United player after a couple of games, he was rewarded by being dumped back in the reserves, and that was Jonathan Spector. And I wish Ferguson would stop going on how we are "a young team", because we are not, in fact we are an aging team that is not going to get any younger.
The staunch Fergie defenders can rubbish this post all they want, but these are facts. And for me, watching the Reds play 4-5-1 and not being able to break down any team that plays with 9 men behind the ball, that is not Manchester United, what we're being fed now is just heartbreaking to watch at times.
Manchester United certainly do not have a devine right to win and there are more important things than winning trophies - and that is the history of the club, and a big part of our history has revolved around entertaining, exciting, attacking, 4-4-2 football, and for me that is the way forward. I would take entertaining and attacking football over trophies anyday. That said, 3rd place is will do fine with me next season.
