Nuno

Starting XI
Diarra would be excellent for United's midfield. The only thing is that Lyon is still the CL and Man U isn't, so I'm sure that would affect his decision.

I'm willing to bet my milk money that Diarra is the guy Fergie talked about getting during the summer.

The fundimental question is will Lyon try and fleece you for him like they did us for Essien. If so it could be lights out. Id say you're gonna have to sell some deadwood before trying to bid for him, namely O'Shea and maybe Saha

Shokz speaks the truth.

A lot of lot fail to take in the moral implications of the Glazers. Pumping money into a club to make money is just wrong. What about all those teams that have fought their way up, only to get crushed by teams who have a sugar daddy and can buy everyone they want?

Football shouldn't be a buisness, it's a sport.

the club was a business before , instead of the Glazers it was wealthy Shareholders taking a cut of the profits. Infact before the Glazer takeover the club was planning on building casinos's to me personally that would have been a step too far. Apart from the debt the club is in much better shape than it was before.
Until there is a salary cap and restrictions on transfer fees , football will be far from a level playing field.

Heard Houllier wants Silves. Maybe swap plus cash deal.

i have brought up the idea of tweety and some cash for diarra and that would suit both teams fine.

if we get diarra now, it would be the best transfers we have pulled off for a while.

just look at the squad with diarra:

-------------vds------------------
neville-----rio----vidic-------evra--
----------------------------------
ronaldo----diarra--scholes----giggs-
-----------------------------------
----------ruud----rooney-----------

p.s i love making up teams! :hump:

Depends if Lyon want to sell , its not like they're are some small club who need cash, i think any deal would happen in the summer as Diarra's got a decent chance of winning the CL with lyon he'd want to stick with them. I'd be suprised if Silvestre didn't leave this month , he's probably fourth choice CB and second choice LB with the world cup coming he'll want first team football

he and raymond dus... something don't get on well :ewan: and that's why he never feature in the france squad, next season he will be 3rd choice lb if he already isn't.

our second XI next season would be:

-------------howard------------------
bardsley-----brown---silvestre-----evra
---------------------------------------
park-----fletcher----o'shea--------rich'-
---------------------------------------
---------smith/ole---saha--------------

but will the goals come ensuring us to pick up wins over lesser teams?

18 mln euro isn't expensive for Diarra, considering his quality and age, he is currently one of the players Lyon is depending on and last season he was one of the best DMs together with Essien. I am worried about the 18 mln not being enough and look at what they did with the whole Essien saga, they got a fortune out of Essien, because it was Chelsea. If Man U bid for him they will try to get every penny out of Diarra because we are another rich club trying to get one of their players

Saha? Deadwood? Unless you are referring to his injury-proness, have you ever seen this guy play when he's fit, man? He's not only decent at finishing but most of the time, he's more creative than the overhpyed Ronaldo with his final balls to release our other attacking players who are at better positions to score.

Saha is pure class, but hasn't got the time yet to develope into a better striker under SAF because of his injuries, but it looks like his injury days are over and he is starting to play much more matches, he was class during his Fulham time and he can only get better with us

park is worthy of a first team place... hes doing much better than ronaldo at the moment
Yes, Park can pass the ball and cross better. He creates lots of space for himself and other players.

But is he still injured and will miss the Derby? and also Scholes?
