I hope he has a good World Cup as it'll put his transfer value up. I can't see him being a Man Utd player for much longer so we have to now just hope that we get the best possible price for him in terms of damage limitation. Ideally Lyon are after a striker, so what about a swap (part ex) with Mamadou Diarra?

Well it's reassuring that they won't be able to coast through their careers and make silly money because they look pretty (Beckham) cough. Maybe they'll actually have to prove themselves on the pitch like Ronaldinho has/does.

What position do the boys play in? A talented DM/AM prodigy would be really handy in a couple of years :)

Mike

Both Wingbacks, one left one right i think.

Yep - it's a headline on the site. How reliable is Tribalfootball usually?

That would be a great move if it actually does come off - maybe Lyon will take Ruud in exchange (part)

Still no sign on ESPN or Skysports though - so I'd advise much caution my friends. :jambo:

Thank you - so it's the internet equivalent of the S*n newspaper then.

Still I really think Diarra is our man - Houllier taunted Chelsea by saying they'd got the wrong one in Essien. I see D'Alessandro is not tied up by Pompey yet, maybe he'd do a job for us - a kind of cheaper Riquelme, plus he's played Premiership football too.

Cristiano is making encouraging noises, he says he's planning on driving himself to try and be the best player in the world and a "huge part of United's history" He also believes he's improved in the last few games and is learning loads.

Passing to a right player at the right time is always better than dribbling oneself.

In the movie Goals!, I like the way the coach kicks the ball away and asks the player to get it. He introduces the most important thing in football.

Yeah I imagined Fergie doing that to Ronaldo! When Ronaldo has learned when to dribble and when to pass, then he will be a lot more effective - recently signs are showing that he is learning (though he does tend to still shoot more often than not, but the tricks are staying in their box now)

Watching classic United games on MUTV you can see the difference in team play with quick runs and first time crosses into the box - Kanchelskis is a great example of the perfect balance.
Beckham could dribble (goal agaist Madrid in 2002-3) but he usually just looked up and crossed rather than run himself.

Ronaldo will get the balance soon, and when he does he will be a far more effective player, complimenting his skill on the ball. That is the major difference between Ronaldo and Ronaldinho - Ronaldinho has the awareness and timing to put team-mates through.

I downloaded the Keano memorial match but havent watched it. But Ronaldo seemed to play forward in this game, did he?
Ronaldo has a strong desire to score so whenever he gets a chance, he attempts to shoot. Perhaps Fergie can try playing him as a forward, as Scholes coming back, Giggs can go back to the left flank, and Park on the right.

Just read in the HK United unofficial site that, Lyon is interested in Ruud, and may want to exchange Ruud with Diarra.
