Unfortunately this is the way football is heading. Weaker teams mastering anti-football to guarantee something away from home against stronger opposition..

what a one-sided game. the whole reading team were in their half defending. the players worked very hard but we could have used a bit more width. Nani looked nervous. Well... we shouldnt get too worried. Hope rooney's okay.

Nani has impressed me, he linked well with the players at times and particular with Ronaldo, but there is still a lot of room for improvement, overall the performance wasn't too bad, Hahnemann had a super day, we can only get stronger when Anderson, Saha Hargreaves, Tevez etc..... are ready to play

And again, what is it with keepers that produce an out of the world performance when playing against us but f*ck up against bottom-table teams?

There was nothing to show that Reading deserved a point, so i really don't think that it has anything to do with Reading's 10 behind ball tactics. It was all pure lack of luck. With the amount of possession and shots United had, you really can't applaud Reading for doing anything. Hahnemann was pretty good today unfortunately, apart from that, United just lacked that little bit of sharpness, that we had last year against Fulham. But with O'Shea upfront and not a single forward in the team, we can't expect too much sharpness can we?

Scholes, Evra, Ronaldo, Nani, Giggs all had chances that should have been put away though and would have been put away if this was a midseason game. I just can't believe that we failed to beat Reading from the first try for the 3rd time running.

On a better note, Nani looked like a carbon copy of Ronaldo, at times i wasn't sure who was who. Its like Ferguson took his two best youngesters and duplicated both.

Its only normal for keepers to step up their game and give everything against bigger teams because they have absolutely no pressure or expectations on them.

I just hope Rooney doesn't f*ck his metatarsal. Bittersweet weekend for me. The BPL started at last but we are playing catchup now.

True. I don't see them producing masterful performances like that against Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal though..
Maybe it's just me.. Meh

I agree. The commentators were applauding reading for 'holding on' almost all the time after the 60th minute. Playing negative football and 'holding on' means that the team only got lucky not to concede a goal after so many threats. Reading didn't deserve a point at all..

Well, just today look at Arsenal. They did score 2 goals eventually, but for 80 minutes, they had no luck with the shots.

i think rooney should be all right, bruised foot or the like. he wasnt limping to badly by half time. probably just a nice little stud mark on the top of his foot, or 5.

over all it was i thought it was a good performance. carrick was putting out some killer passes. scholes, man he was invisible today and gave the ball away too many times.

i was hoping man utd would give reading more possession to draw them out of their 18 yard box. but we didnt, we just hammered away at them for 90 minutes and got nothing.

the 10 man defense wouldnt worry us too much later on once everyone is in top gear and firing on all cylinders.

He fractured his foot.

man utd was unlucky, i hadn't seen a team just defending, the whole time, like reading did
with the players that weren't able to playe yet united's team will be much stronger and won't have to use o'shea...
one day i intend to understand how players like o'shea or brown play so much time in a club like man utd, or why they even are part of the squad. until now i had no success in it....

They aren't bad players man, both are incredibly useful.

Rooney will probably be out for 4 or 5 weeks. I imagine Tevez will be making his debut at Portsmouth now.

Every squad needs players like that who are able to play several positions and are willing to spent time on the bench.

they are not players for other premiership clubs
i think a club like man utd should have higher standards
they're both not quick (especially o'shea) and they don't have any technique
