Cristiano is portrayed as a diver so Referees let really stupid/dangerous challenges happen to him. I could see him feeling Spain would be safer. :-puke:
I think he has learnt to relish this kind of behaviour. I think Ronaldo sort of likes playing the villain, he doesn't mind being boo'ed and has admitted it just spurs him to do better. Maybe it's a factor towards why he has become the great player he has. I think the drama between England and Portugal has mad him into a better player, because he has learnt to peform so well throughout the controversy. Look at the Newcastle game for example, he wasn't been given an inch by the referee in the first half, and was obviously frustrated, and the Newcastle fans were boo'ing him. So he comes out in the second half, and scores a hat trick. He sort of plays better with the drama, it doesn't impede him I think.

I understand that, but I could see him getting seriously hurt with the leniency shown by refs against him. At some point it's gonna cross his mind too.

He isn't man, forget it

I'd be surprised if United make any high profile moves in January. Carlos Quieroz said they were more or less happy with the squad. Sir Alex missed the conference yesterday for a family emergency. I don't know if he'll be back for the game today.

Seriously, everyone is over-reacting about the whole AIG logo on the tribute. I personally look at it as they're supporting the whole tribute instead of "sponsoring" it - which is quite frankly a pretty absurd idea. Nothing in this life is for free, and if AIG financed the tribute then let them put their logo on it. Makes no difference to me if its on there or not - and it's hardly some huge advert that detracts attention from the message of the tribute.

They way i see it. They paid for it, they got every right to put it on there. It takes up like 2% of the whole picture and hidden somewhere in the corner. You barely even notice it. They have every right to put it on there, people are just pissed because AIG is american.

boy am i relieved with the win.... our decision making was piss poor. And even after rooney's goal we had several chances to kill the game off but wasteful.

Sunderland have signed Phil Bardsley in a deal worth upto 2milllion. I always actually thought Bardsley was alright, but Danny Simpson is a better prospect, and Bardsley's chances would have been limited.

Bardsley's attitude did him. His loan spell at Rangers was cut short because of an incident in training. 2 million is a good price and I wish him the best. Who's next to go to Sunderland? (H)

Watched the Al-Hilal friendly on the MUTV provided by my cable, and the players gave 60% of what they can produce. Kinda normal for a testimonial. Al-Hilal got two penalties by the ref who can make Steve Bennett look like a world class ref. But they missed one and the fellow, Sami Al-Jaber scored. Welbeck came on and had a decent debut for the team and won a penalty. He missed his pen after trying emulating Ronaldo's style. And Vidic got booked.
