Damn roma again. Beating them last year, and this year in the group stages, then having to face them again. The law of averages would suggest there due a win, what's this the 5th game?. Got a bad feeling about this one. Hope we can beat them.

*Edit*

two sides will have met six times in 12 months.

AS Roma 1-1 United (Group F)
United 1-0 AS Roma (Group F)
United 7-1 AS Roma (CL Q/F 2)
AS Roma 2-1 United (CL Q/F 1)

Its been quite close each time other then that 7-1 thumping. Not that I think that's a reflection of skill deference.

what the heck are we playing..... totally WASTEFUL!! the more we delay our opening goal...the more encouragement derby will get. Giggs should be subbed ASAP!

Giggs was the worst player on the pitch and yet SAF takes park off who was lively. Lucky escape for us. Although i have to say we were pretty unlucky at times.

Seriously, you have no idea about the game. It's games like these that are really important to win when we're not playin very well and still get a result.
That's the hallmark of champions.
And I must say, I am a little disappointed with Derby, they've absolutely capitulated in almost every game they've played and then they're up against us and play their hearts out. F*cking typical, why the hell don't they play like that every week?
It's Leeds in 1996 all over again...
Giggs really wasn't good today either, I couldn't believe he stayed on the park all through the game...

Just look at our record against the smaller teams - I think to some teams beating United is more of a priority than staying in the league. Also I can't help but feel United just don't give these games as much attention as they should. Given a match against a top team, or a smaller team (like Derby) I'd be more confident of a United win against the bigger team - because I know the United players will raise their game. I just don't have the feeling United's players play every game with the same effort.

A very lucky win for us today and so far it's looking good with l'Arse trailing by a goal. We played very bad today, but I am happy our lads kept going. It just wasn't a good day for most of the lads.

They'll probably equalise in the 90th minute or something :-puke:

We're playing our next three games at home. The game in hand is going to be played on Wednesday against Bolton.
A win is crucial.

I hope we hammer them.

We have lots of players with good records against them, especially Rooney. Hope he scores and gets himself back on track, he's looked a shadow of the player he was 2 years ago.
