You might be right, but not many keepers possess the distributing qualities of De Gea. That's also the main reason why SAF went for him. He has already started countless of attacking moves when on the counter attack.

Neuer trumps him in distribution by a huge amount. I think if United made their interest clear early enough he would have preferred you to Bayern. By the time SAF showed any interest he had pretty much already agreed to terms with us (of course I'm not insinuating that we would tap up a player ;)).

I've been thinking how much of a hole there is in out midfield. I don't think we will do to well in the Champions league this season... were going through a transition period again. The old guard retiring moving on with youth moving up.

We have done well some far, attacking hard, lots of motivation and youth but I think we will be left exposed when we play a good team in the champions league.

I'd love to see Jones play midfield, those runs he keeps doing are amazing but he keeps leaving a gap. Doing that in midfield wouldn't be so much of a problem bit like the position Makélélé used to play.

The futures looking bright though.

Rooney, Chicha and Evans will be back for the game tomorrow. I'd prefer if we played with a Rooney/Welbeck attack. Welbeck has been in great form so far and I'd rest Chicharito for a while.

My prefered formation:

Welbeck Rooney

Young Fletcher Anderson Nani

Evra Ferdinand Jones Fabio

I will miss the game unfortunately.

I could only see a couple minutes because Bayern are playing, but it looks like Rooney isn't anywhere close to fit. Not tracking back.

That was a nervy win, clumsy actions at the back. I'm glad Vidic is coming back, Evans had lot's of trouble with Morrison today. I think Jones did enough to cover his mistakes.

As 1966+2006 stated, our passing was not good at all. Hopefully Cleverly will come back after international break.

We were lucky to not concede a goal today, another miss of the season against us.

Next 3 matches are against Liverpool, Citeh and Everton. We really had tough schedule this year and yet the best start in recent times.

Btw, another good game by Welbeck, he looks like a real deal. I was completely wrong about him.

I managed to watch the full game afterall. I hate when everyone blames Evans when we played badly. He did 1 mistake but otherwise he had a fine game. If you ask me who was the weak link in our defence today its gotta be Valencia. 75% of Norwich attacks were from our right side. He is a winger and should never play at RB again. Why not play Jones or Fabio there?

Jones was a star once again. I wonder who will play when Vidic and Smalling return from injury. TBH I think Jones has impressed even more than Smalling. I totally love his trademark runs forwards. Fergie will have a selection headache when all our defenders become fit.

As you guys said, awful game overall. Awful passes from midfield. Fletcher has not yet hit form since coming back from illness and Anderson is showing his inconsistency once again. Good for him on the goal though.

Welbeck is the man in form at the moment and should start instead of Chicharito. He scored 5 goals in 8 games. Chicharito needs time to hit top form and should be given some rest.

Our next game is in 14 days which is a good thing. Its gonna be Liverpool away though but at least it will give us time to get our **** straight.

Although, we were successful against key rivals so far but I don't think traditional 4-4-2 (or even 4-4-1-1) can do enough damage against key domestic and European opponents especially in away matches. I think Sir Alex should deploy 4-3-3 against Liverpool next:

--------De Gea-------
Smalling-Rio-Vidic-Evra
--------Jones---------
----Cleverly--Ando----
Nani------------Young
--------Rooney-------

We've beaten man city, Arsenal and tottenham with 4-4-1-1 this season and reached the UCL final last season with 4-4-1-1 so would not make much sense if we change formation. Rooney plays more like an AM against top opposition.

Barca dominated our midfield and our midfield was very open with lots of free spaces during Chelsea, City and even Arsenal games.

I agree that a 2 man midfield cannot beat Barca's midfield but our midfield does the job against most teams with 4-4-1-1. We never play our best with 4-3-3. Our players are not suitable for this formation.

I hope Cleverly return improves that area.

Nope we wont, we will do even worse at a guess considering the players we lost. Maybe in a couple of years when the new players gel more.

Central midfield is our weakest area for years and I don't know why Fergie doesn't improve it with new players. I think Anderson was the last signing 4 5 years ago.
