Gotta admit Fergie (and everyone else in particular) has had his own bad decisions. And that includes signing some unknown dude from the streets when you can use that money for world class players like Ozil and VDV.

All in all I just hope he gets it right if he wishes to spend during January. Unearthing gems like Evra and Vidic, not forgetting Hernandez have been masterstrokes. So since we're out of the UCL we can pluck someone who isn't playing there and make him a key player in the squad. Not some highly-rated player like Sneijder who will be extremely costly. And doing so makes Chelsea look stupid all the time.

Lol, he never won anything. Funny thing is though all the exact same stuff was being said during Chelsea's 3 straight prem wins. what did SAF do? exactly. you can second guess him all you want. but his record speaks for itself, yours on the other hand does not :icon_spin:

Wow, SO many goals from us, amazing!

Maybe we can even finish this without being afraid that Wolves will equalize on the last minute? :O

How have Smalling and Jones been?

Jones was amazing. He was all over the place. Smalling was great at RB too. The key in this game was that Rooney was playing in an advanced position and did not have to worry about defensive duties. 4-3-3 with Rooney as lone striker would be perfect for us but only if we have a good attacking playmaker.

I think Jones was in his industrial best today because he was chasing hard and long for that third goal in consecutive games, got him motivated to the max. Look how he reacted when Valencia decided not to pass the ball to him in the lead up to Rooney's second!

Isn't Gaitan a (left) winger? I'll shoot myself if we buy another one...

Flattering to be linked with players from CL though.

Fergie said he won't be making any changes this January. No one would be interested in playing for the EUROPA Cup anyway. I hope Fergie realizes that we need central midfielders in the summer. Cleverley and Anderson are the future but we need spmething now.

What do you guys think of Jones as a DM? He was absolutely fantastic in the last game. I initially thought that we overpaid him but it was actually a bargain. He has the versatility of O'Shea (Can plan DM, CB, RB) but is much better and dynamic already. I'm not sure if its a good idea playing him out of position at such a young age though. But if you think about it, his dynamism and energy would be wasted in central defence.

I agree. He has done very well this season even against top opposition (except City maybe). He is back to the same form he had 2 seasons back. Its difficult to choose from Evans, Jones and Smalling now. They are all great. They are very versatile as well which is a huge plus. Smalling can play CB, RB, Jones CB, RB, DM and Evans can play CB, LB.

Yeah the EUROPA cup thing is gonna mean that players at teams still in the Champions League would rather come at the end of the season, but considering that in recent years Ferguson has made almost all his signings from non-CL and often non EUROPA league sides (Jones, Smalling, Young, Hernandez etc) that really shouldn't bother him that much. Number one target Mr Carlos Rodwell would come :p And your most urgent priority is probably that experienced central playmaker midfielder but you could also use another forward to support Rooney so Hernandez can be an impact sub, an experienced but not old central defender and full backs for both sides!

I think it's a terrible idea. Jones has the potential to be the next Rio Ferdinand or John Terry but if you play him all over the shop he's not gonna get there and will be confused about what to do and what his role in the team is and is to be and will become simply a Carlos of all trades, master of none. You play him like John O'Shea, he'll end up an O'Shea standard player. Ferguson needs to have faith, not be SO reliant on him, and over the next couple of seasons gradually develop him and bring him into the first choice pair of centre backs. Then you'll finally have a suitable replacement for Ferdinand or Vidic and possibly your future captain.

And Evans is rubbish, I dont care if he can make himself look good every once in a while against mediocre attacks, you will never be able to rely on him week in week out. The difference between him and Smalling is enormous, right now they are about as good as each other but Smalling has only just started developing and you can tell Evans has almost finished!

Javi García is not United material unless he made a huge improvement and i didn't realise.

About the improvement... yes hes better, or should i say.. Benfica gave him the opportunity to improve. He's one of our best players. If he would do good at manchester united? Hum... dont know. I think he's the right player for Premier League, about that im sure.

He plays both sides, some say that his natural position his "10", so he can do pretty well in the front positions.

Nah clinging onto O'Shea would have been yet another example of clinging onto a player past his best, he would have just got in the way. I cant believe Carrick was offered a new contract, surely Ferguson could have got Steve Bruce to pay some money for him too, and Gibson, and then his ranks would be some way towards being cleared of the mediocrity which infects them. And yeah, Skeletenburg was only 6, though whether thats what Man Utd would have been charged given their situation is another question. For 20m, a very similar price to De Gea, they could have activated the release clause on Reina, and he is not old and has so much Premier League and Champions League experience.

You cant be serious... Carrick's been one of our best players recently, his old self is definitely back, his passing and vision has been top stuff. May have been different if we had him in the champions league game, he only went and got himself band.

I agree with you on Evan's though. He make's decent enough backup.

As for Jones in DM, I'm not sure about that, sometime you think this lads the new RIO and other times you see how he makes these brilliant runs forward, brilliant link up play Vs wolves he did this a number of times. He couldn't do this at CB

And that's more like it, that's how we should be beating teams like wolves, not these 1-0 wins we been scraping through.

He's been marginally better this season, though that may only appear to be the case because the players around him have been worse. But if he is playing well, that's bad for you, it makes it even less likely that Ferguson will sign the central midfield star you so desperately need. There is absolutely no future in Carrick.
