I don't think Bannan is good enough for United yet. He's only getting playing time on and off and because of Petrov's illness. But he's got stuff thart you can't teach and with experience he'll become excellent, I'm sure of it.

Bannan is a decent player but signing him wouldn't exactly be a glorious step forward. If you're targeting youngsters I rate Rodwell as a better prospect. Modric is your man - Ferguson has made no secret about wanting him and he wont be so difficult to get as last season, and even if Chelsea come after him again I would expect him to pick champions United over Europa League\fourth place scrapers Chelsea provided you make a decent offer. Shame, I would really like to see him in blue.

We tend to develop this kind of players well (i.e. Low profile average guy but talented in some aspects of the game) plus he's only 22 and we could get him for cheap. Look into what Valencia has developed for instance. Valencia too was average at best before he came. He's now one of our best players.

Maybe Cleverley or Anderson are better than him overall but Bannan's vision and long balls are definitely better. He offers something that our other midfielders don't. Scholes is the only one who's good at long balls. Rooney too but he's a striker.

If he stops driving drunk and committing hit-and-runs, you mean?

And yeah, Valencia was not average at Wigan, dude was a beast there. In fact it doesn't really seem like he's improved a ton at United, he's just always been really good.

Modric is obviously the man, but who knows if Glazers will pay for him. I think Sahin should be the second choice, he isn't preferred at Madrid and didn't really cost them much. That kid is really really good, Bundesliga player of the year last year. You could probably get Moutinho for a reasonable price as well. Stop drooling over 4-3-3 players who can't play defense though.

David Gill: “The work goes on all year round but obviously intensifies as we come to the end of the season in terms of players,” Gill said. “There’s various contracts we’ve got to do, we’ll look at some acquisitions and there will be some players who will leave. It’s an interesting time.”

Looks like there's gonna be some movement in the summer. Who do you guys think should leave? Here are my thoughts:

Berbatov: I like him but there is no point in keeping him when he's not being used. I still think that he is our second best striker but he is getting old and has no place in ur first team now.

Owen: Has hardly played in the past 2 years. His contract ends this year and I doubt we're gonna renew it.

Ritchie De Laet: Honestly, I have no idea why we bought him. He is no where near the first team and he' turns 24 this year.

Scholes and Giggs could retire this summer as well. Pogba could leave to Juventus too.

I've seen a few of De Gea's good and bad highlights from this season, but what do ManU fans think of him now? Has he been convincing?

Hasn't Giggs signed on?
Soccernet were talking about a few first team players being linked with a move away, but then named Berbatov, Owen and Pogba, so it wasn't too concerning.
I don't mind any of the above leaving. Pogba can f*ck off if he wants to leave. I don't even want us to make much effort to keep him. If he doesn't want to sign with us at 18 then he should try his luck somewhere else.

He had a rocky start making lots of costly mistakes. He was still adjusting to the game and was probably not used to the fast tempo and physical nature of the EPL. He's still shaky with crosses and corners but he's improving a lot. Now he's getting used to the game here and has been playing consistently well for a while. He even won the United player of the month for February. He's starting to meet expectations and I'm pretty sure he'll continue improving.

Yeah Giggs signed 1 extra year. I agree with the Pogba situation. His agent (who is also Balotelli's agent as well) is making the situation worse.

Your attitude about Pogba is stupid. He's a kid and he wants a chance to develop his career, not sit on the bench. If another big club is willing to give him the opportunity, then why in the hell should he play for your Reserves for the next 3 years? Loyalty? Please.

Also this.

are you brain dead, its got nothing to do with him developing his career, its to do with him and the new youth that keep trying to hold the club to ransom on pay when they have done nothing to justify it. There reserve team player's who have done nothing.

If he wants to move on, move on and make up his mind, nothing wrong with that.

Just like Morisson, he is not good enough yet to play for the first team. Morisson is not even getting played by west ham in the championship. Have you seen him play in the first team? He showed glimpses of his talent but he has a long way to go.

And like 1966+2006 said, we don't need trouble makers. One of the reasons why we are so successful is becaise we don't keep these kind of players.

Five years ago Fergie would have said "Goodbye and Goodriddance" to Pogba the moment he started making trouble.
