Manchester United vs Portsmouth
Date: Saturday, 26 February 2005
Competition: Barclays Premiership
Venue: Old Trafford
Kick Off: 17:15
We have all four of our main strikers available, with van Nistelrooy, Smith and Saha all returning from injury to join Rooney. There has also been some talk of Rossi possibly getting a run out, but with our returning strikers all needing games, I'm not so sure we'll see that happening.
Sir Alex might see it fit to rest some players here after the midweek match. People like Rooney and Giggs might get some bench time.
It will be interesting to see if Sir Alex continues to use Carroll or give Howard another chance, I think he's the better keeper. He's able to pull off the spectacular saves/blocks, something Carroll seldom does. And at least Howard seems to give a fuck.
My Team:
Howard
G. Neville
Ferdinand
Silvestre/Brown (based on the Milan match, I'd go with Brown)
Heinze
Ronaldo
Keano
Scholes
Fortune
Smith
van Nistelrooy
Porstmouth aren't the same team they were when they beat us last October, they've lost a couple key players, and despite losing in midweek, United are in great form. And at Old Trafford, Pompey will probably be in for a rude awakening if they feel there'll be any repeat of what happened in the last two meetings.
This is a chance to gain some more ground on Chelsea who don't play in the Premiership this weekend, if we win we'll be only six points behind.
I predict a 3-0 win for United.
