Martins is first choice in Nigeria's national team - when he's selected and/or available. Its just that our "coach" (glorified P.E. teacher) seems to be obsessed with selecting squads of nobodies for most games (and then complains about inexperience and lack of passion when we get embaressed).

Martins is like a Ferrari with a Ford Bronco's control and handling. He's improved greatly on his finishing, but his overall technique is still horrendous, also, he's currently got priority over King Recoba on the Inter squad so he sucks even more.

If he had a tenth of kanu's technique, he'd simply be unstoppable and be contending for one of those world greatest footballler awards. But such is life, right? The way talent is endowed to people.....it's just so unfair. Give Kanu a tenth of Martins' athleticism and you've got a super-human footballer on your hands......anyway, atleast he's still young and can work on his technique....you can't work on natural athleticism.

You could easily say its a no contest now, but I find it hard to remember them both back in 2004.

btw if they had a "Where are they now" for futbol players. Martins will come top 5 of talents to just quietly flourish. Damn it Newcastle (H) sorry couldn't resist.
